first time I've seen a news story about a shooting where the gun was named. so shooting a 9mm gangsta style can lead to limp wristing and a jam? (city cops have carried the DAO version of the Beretta 92 for 20 years.)

I've read that guns recovered from stupid street thugs sometimes contain the wrong caliber ammo. Maybe he was only able to gather a few 9mm rounds and a few .380 and thought, "close enough..."

Or, it was a brand new gun and he failed to read and abide by the "Proper Prep" thread here.

Marc, what do you make of the news story where they claim the St. Louis airports may have to be shut down over this?

here's a funny thing about STL, the internationally renown http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/ sits on 79 acres in the city, nearby is a classic ghetto neighborhood. in the ghetto, they all bees good boys that carry sandwiches. now, along comes some cop who is goofy enough to get out of his patrol car and chase suspects on foot, ending in a gun fight. get out of the car in that neighborhood without the shotgun or backup? he craz!

I think they shoot until the threaty is over. I am sure the black person shooting at the cop would have done the same had his Ruger sandwwixh not got in the way. Ballistic reports will show there was ham and cheese on the bullets from that Ruger. Probalby jammed cause he was shooting 380 ammo in a 9mm gun. Justy sayin

huymm, I was told Rugers never jam. courseit came from a Ruger fan to. Evidently the cops semi didnt jame. My bet it was a Glock 17, I heard the cop was really aiming at the sandwhich, which wa sin the guys mouth by the way. Probably alittle difficult to soot a Ruger semi and holding/eating a sandwich.

St. Louis and surrounding area right now could be worse than Syria. Just sayin

STL is just fine. Rugers, at least my P-89 is just fine. the thing you have to remember when seeing STL on the news is that the city and county is about 50-50. of that ethnic makeup, there are areas of one group and then another, some mixed areas. the 50% white group can be divided into groups by income, education, lifestyle-- it runs the gamut from educated money makers down to hillbilly trailer trash drug addicts. the 50% black group can be divided into groups by the same methodology- money, education, lifestyle. there is a definite black middle class in the STL area, that has nothing to do with the low lives you might see in the news.
green(as in money) is the color to think about.

When are the African Americans going to learn not to mess with the police? Why is less than 10% of the population responsible for 50% of the crime in this country? If the United States is such a racist nation why don't more blacks return to Africa? These questions have puzzled me for a long time now.

I can think of a 1/2 african living in DC that I'd like to see go back to Africa. He can take his wife too. Maybe live in Liberia since he has such feelings for the place.
