      Good luck, Muggsy!

BTW - Tell the doc to be sure and clean & lube the new knee out of the box - and to rack & flex it two or three hundred times before installation.

ditto on the above. (stainless, alloy or polymer? got any parts numbers? might need some of those, hips too.)

I asked my doc about a couple bionic knees and the bastard laughed at me! Then he said whats the point?

He always thought he was a comedian.

            Speaking of comedians, where's Jocko?

That's a good question? Where is Jocko? I'm slammed him a dozen times with no rebuttal, no wonder it wasn't any fun.

              I'll check into that?

                    Best of luck Muggsy.

Surgery sucks, surgical recovery sucks more, but a good result can be a true life changer.

Keeping you in the prayers Muggsy.
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
                    "more stuff than you are"

I know people who have had both knee and hip surgery. The hip is a far less complicated joint. It's far less painful to rehab and takes far less time to recover from. With a nerve block post surgical pain is practically non existent. Go for it.

Surprisingly, prosthetic knees and hips are a combination of stainless steel and polymer. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin Moon had a hand in their design.

I wish you all the best, muggsy. Love your sense of humour around this place.

                          Oh, two bits of advice:
                          1. The hospital gown opens in the back.
                          2. If you see this guy, don't walk--run away.

Yikes! He looks a lot like my doctor. What did I get myself into, so to speak?

I'm sure you will be fine. Don't forget all the prep work and Lube. Keep it wet when breaking it in. :-)
