  • Looking for possibility of using a P9 barrel on a PM9, suppressed

I have a PM 9. I would like to explore the possibility of using my Liberty Mystic or YH Cobra suppressors on it.

Before I bought my PM 9, I had a P9. I wasn't into suppressors at that time and sold the P9 but as I recall the barrel was essentially the same except for the length.

My plan is, if practical, is to buy a P9 barrel, take it to a gunsmith for final fitting and to thread the barrel.

I called Kahr and their tech support was useless. I ask for a spec sheet and/or design drawing for the barrel to try to further explore this idea. They said they didn't have one. How you can build a gun without these doesn't seem possible. Sounded like a brush-off job.

Can anyone shead so light on this plan?

I would call Lone Wolf. I know it has been done because I have seen suppressed PM9's but not sure who did it.

While you are at it, call Magpul and request a polymer flush fit mag for it.....

It was. Kahr is not going to help anyone who might someday be a competitor for their parts. Run your idea by your gunsmith and have him make the determination if you should go further and order a barrel.

It won't work. I compared barrels and posted side-by-side pictures of the K9, P9, and PM9 barrels. Remember that these guns have the Browning barrel-to-slide lockup and the parts have to mate for lockup.

Kahr does sell a 9mm threaded barrel for the TP9, CT9, P9 and CW9 models only:

            http://www.kahr.com//guide-rods-and-...ded-barrel.asp

            9mm Threaded Barrel

Factory Kahr Arms Barrel, 9mm, extended & threaded in 1/2-28, includes thread protector. Match-grade barrel has a threaded muzzle to enable mounting of a compensator or suppressor. Fits Kahr TP9, CT9, P9 and CW9 models only.
            • Thread-1/2-28
            • Thread Length-.445
            • Barrel Length-4.5 inches
            • Polygonal Riffling
            • May Require Minor Fitting

            Qty: $159.99 MSRP: $169.99

Buying one of the included pistols and one of these barrels would probably be cheaper. You can sell what you have to recover some of the cost.

I bought the ported barrel for my P9 while it was on sale. Maybe the threaded one will go on sale. I would be interested in one at a cheaper price.
