A gun is either accurate or it's not. There is no extremely accurate, pretty accurate, somewhat inaccurate, accurate for the most part. It's one or the other. And obviously sometimes the shooter.

Gene I disagree. Like extremely pretty wimmen, pretty wimmen, plain ol' wimmenfolk, and butt fugly pony girls, thinks do come in degree, and there is no exception with rifles or pistols.
My 10/22 that I fit the Clark/Ruger barrel to, and squared the bolt face on, is accurate at 5/8 inch at 50 yards. Thats just over 1moa and most .22s don't come close to that. My Kimber (of Oregon) All American Match does under .3 inches, a ragged hard to measure hole, at the same distance with Remington Sub-Sonic 22s. That is an extremely accurate rifle, by any measure.
To me, its ok to have degrees.

So much is ergonomics.
But I've got a Glock with six barrels in three calibers, lengths and finishes.
The barrels themselves can favor bullet weight and/or manufacturer.
Two barrels in the same caliber/gun can demonstrate different performance.
I've got six HKs and they are all accurate.
But I shoot the USPT45 on a whole different level.
It has a longer sight radius and adjustable sights.
But that doesn't explain the near 1911 performance of the Tactical.
IMHO Guns are like girls.
They are all different.

IMHO - Triggers, sights and grips mean everything when a real person is shooting the gun.

More accurate than I am. Guns can be tweaked for competitive bullseye shooting but there's a cost in terms of reliability and safety: when tolerances get very close, triggers get very light, etc, not to mention the financial cost of customizing which would be a total waste for me. My guns are more than accurate for my ability and purpose, and beyond that factors like reliability, feel, weight, ease of use and capacity become more important.Rest in peace Muggsy

When I first got my CM9 2 years ago I was very disappointed in it's accuracy. At the range one day I mentioned the fact. I was shooting at 21 feet. A well dressed gentleman overheard me and asked if he could shoot it. He told me it was me, not the gun. He moved the target out to 30 feet and proceeded to blow the bulls eye out of the target with it. Yikes!!! I couldn't have been that bad. Long story short. Yes I was!!! After some tutoring from him and lots of practice I can put all my shots in a 3 to 4" pattern in the center of the target. Still a ways to go but lots better than I was.

Guns are like a box of chocolate. You never know what yer gonna get. Most guns can be made to shoot accurately and some not so much. Most guns are more accurate than the men shooting them. Allow me to ask this question. How long is a piece of string? My kudos to the first man with the correct answer.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Accuracy is a function of many factors. Apart from the human factor most of them centered around quality machining. The most accurate firearm is one that has the sights attached directly to the barrel. So long as the barrel is well made , the gun will shoot consistently. Many .22s are made this way but few centerfire guns. Therefore accuracy is usually determined by the precision of the barrel to slide lock-up and how consistent it returns to the same position shot after shot. No easy task. Ammo matters and of course the human factor is the greatest and weakest link. Some guns are more accurate than others, no way around it.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.
