I had an SP101 in .357 mag. It was a thumper.
Shooting it drove my thumbnail into the pad of my ring finger hard enough to incite a bone 'pearl' inside the finger. Had to have surgery to take it out.
So that one went to Gun Broker.
I liked it w/.38 special, but that .357 was too much for me...

according to the Colonel, he has advanced his abilities with the SP inserts dramatically in the last 3 years or so. I never felt like mine really need much improvementOriginally posted by WMD View PostMr. Surveyor,
I really like those panels. Gonna have to visit the "emporium" soon!

Not sure we want to know what those "unpleasant environmental conditions" are.....Originally posted by mr surveyor View Post.....My SP gets carried at least 5 days per week, often in really "unpleasant environmental conditions", and it never misses a beat.
Can you tell I love my SP-101

Picked it up today...............changed the hammer spring, to get a feel..............now time for a trigger job..........it feels good, but needs some smoothing out. I really like the fact that I can get 3 fingers on the gun comfortably. Cleaned it up. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot it, in the near future.Attached Files

Have you all been conspiring with grab a gun against me? I got this in the mail today.
http://grabagun.com/ruger-sp101-357mag-2-1-4-fs-ss.htmlThe only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

That is a good looking gun! You are going to love it. Put some assembly paste in the internals and snap it around 200 to 250 times. You will be pleasantly surprised what happens. I need to do that to the Charter Arms .44 I just bought. You are going to love that gun!Originally posted by b4uqzme View Post^^^ But I'm sure I don't wanna know

oops! My "reply with quote" was on the wrong post. I meant to reply to berettabone's post showing his new acquisition. Sorry for the mix up. (it might have to do with age!)Originally posted by WMD View PostThat is a great price. I paid $464 for my wife's SP101 a few years ago and got a good price then! I think you should go for it.
