I don't drink much beer, but when I do, it's Michelob Light or Bud Light. Some food just requires beer, but I drink wine anyhow, sometimes. I do like the Black Crown, too, and the Blue Moon Ale!

Oh man, I showed my wife that wine cooler because she has been nagging for one of those for a few years. She really likes it. We have wine regularly I would say since the kids are grown. I wouldn't keep anything around the house when they were young just so they wouldn't get any Ideas. Wine is OK but we like the dry red or white best.

I don't really do mixed drinks, any hard stuff has to be straight or maybe on Ice so I know how much poison i'm getting. Don't do rum either as me and Ron Bacardi 151 had a disagreement in my youth. I do like a good Bourbon, brandy, or tequila though. Started trying a beer or 2 this summer but find the taste gets boring. I'd rather just have iced tea.

I'm not much of a drinker these days - maybe a beer or two with our Happy Hour group once a month or a margarita when dining out on TexMex food.

Two of my sons are beer drinkers and the third is a wine & whisky snob.

I've got bottles of booze in my pantry that have been untouched for 7 or 8 years. Don't hardly drink at home any more, but the wife loves her box wine every day. Guess she drinks to make me look better.

Wow, I got lost in this conversation real quick. I haven't had a drink since 1972 and never more than one in a night, plus I don't care much about food. I never learned to cook because I would I would just as soon open a can of chili as go to a four star restaurant, and I don't have to get dressed to do it. I built my house 13 years ago and the range top, oven, and dishwasher have never been used. It may sound strange, but I've never tasted beer. However, don't leave a coffee pot unguarded near me.

"I don't always drink beer".......wait, yes I do! Can't do the grape juice though...haven't found any that I can tolerate since they quit making TJ Swan (high class stuff there!), but I do like a little bourbon during the cold months. Wait - what the hell was this thread about?

I resemble both of those remarks.

Advice and opinions... opinions and alcohol preferences, I guess. Okay with me. I had my red wine tonight... less than a bottle... still have to do the dishes, but just watched the last True Detective I recorded... hell of a shootout.

I don't usually carry in No Gun Zones, but today, I just felt like there has been so much killing going on in gun-free zones and I just don't want to be a sheeple awaiting slaughter. I didn't see any security forces, so I carried mine. It was choice target with unarmed military and dependents, but no sign of any security at all. The Mayport BX & Commissary are located off base and only protected by the No Gun signs, as far as I could tell.

When I go on base, they ALWAYS ask "Any weapons or contraband?" The guys at the gate are usually a mix of Navy and Police in uniform.

                    1. Good merlot and a crusty loaf of bread w/ butter. Leave me in the corner and don't talk to me.
                    2. Frozen margarita and some good ole mexican foods, with LOTS of heat
                    3. Vanilla rum and cranberry juice (DANGEROUS) or rum and coke

I gave up the bread... unhealthy in a lot of ways... turns to sugar quickly... and I'm type II diabetic. Lots of organic butter in cooking... and LOTS of medicinal wine... Bordeaux having the most of the health benefits.

I used to love fresh French bread and butter, though! I cut out wheat and other high glycemic grains... the highly refined ones.

Oh! Vanilla rum and cranberry juice?? Yikes!

I'm sure I'm a contributor to your heartburn there Wynn. I'll strive to do better. I'll start with the next post. I guess I don't understand why some posters equate disagreement with some sort of personal attack. Whenever I see the name calling, I scour the previous posts looking for anything mean spirited. It's typically not there. But there are a lot of posts of disagreement. There are a lot of really smart people on this forum. When one of them politely disagrees with you, instead of getting angry, maybe consider their opinion. They just might be right. Or half right. Or something.

... I'm talking to the crowd Wynn...certainly not you or anyone in particular.

Well, I'm fixin' to have a couple of scoops of Pecan Pie Vanilla ice cream.

I'll just take an extra Liptor tablet afterwards.

Oh, no heartburn from you. Some guys hear an altercation around the corner and just throw a chunk of mud or a rock around the corner without trying to understand what's going on... or a quick quip that doesn't answer the question or add anything positive, or even funny to the conversation.

I'm more bothered... just a little... by the multitudes who don't seem to have cracked the very short manual or pamphlet that came with their new toy. I tried several times to post something for newcomers to answer most of the popular questions or point them in the right direction, but most don't bother to look in the manual or in the areas that are set up for newcomers. And... a lot of people were miffed at me for not wanting to answer every question like that, saying that they liked doing that. Oh, well... I've done that a time or so myself... asked "dumb" questions. I still feel a bit embarrassed by a few of those instances. Like... Doh! The answer's in the manual. This was something that I thought I knew about, having had a K9 for about 12 years before getting my first polymer, the PM9... and trying to take it apart like the K9... totally different in many ways! I hadn't checked the manual! Too many guys didn't understand my problem and were wanting me to pound the pin out without realizing that I was using the steel K9's lineup instead of the "witness marks". I could'a hurted my new and most cherished find!

To each his own and let's just have as much fun with our guns and chats as we can stand. This is still my most favorite and first real chat room.

As I said... I really just wanted to post the comic strip.
