  • Jerry shoots the .50 BMG into 1, then 2 blocks of Clear Gel!

Jerry Miculek shoots blocks of Clear Gel in YouTube UHD video. The two-block shot is awesome!

There seems to be an explosion in the second shot after the projectile passes through the first block. See second URL below... WOOHOO!

Neat video. When does he shoot the .50 mag dry in 2.125 seconds though?
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

He has other videos doing things like that. He's a fantastic shooter.

Did you try the second link where I caught the bright flash? I really liked the second shot with two gel blocks... awesome destruction!

That's something like what Bruce caught with some pistol and ammo in his testing.

That 2 block shot with the flash was awesome.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The one-block shot was ho-hum, but the two-block shot really tore those suckers up and the bullet did break up. It looked like armor-piercing incendiary, API, but I think not! Bruce, Ljutic, had some flashes with his ammo testing and it wasn't that big a caliber.

The flash is explained in the video as a natural cavitation phenomenon not uncommon in high energy bullet tests.

Watching those really makes me want a high speed camera and some ballistic gel! My .50BMG produces a helluva lot more smoke but I bet Jerry is using really high quality ammo, mine is all hand loaded and for whatever reason looks like a musket going off! I sure love the smell though. Thanks for the links!
