  • Taurus Curve 380

Just came across this a few minutes and thought maybe I can beat the other guys to it while they're in church.

Taurus Curve The world's first and only curved firearm engineered to fit the unique contours of your body. An extreme departure from your typical compact .380, you'll find the Curve takes form and function to an entirely unprecedented level. Exceptionally accurate and extremely lightweight at just 10.2 ounces.

DANG!! I didn't mean for that pic to be so big. Can't find MS Picture Manager in Win10 which is great for changing pics around. Isn't that a great looking pocket gun? Reminds me of a "City" car for getting around town.

They had one for auction at the local friends of the NRA banquet earlier this year, I don't care for it. I would never carry any pistol or revolver by a "clip" without something covering the trigger. A coworker has a friend that often carries a little .25 in his pocket without a holster, so far he has had two rounds fire into his couch. He is not a smart person.

I heard that it was designed by the engineers at Glock.

I agree that its ugly. The curve only "works" in your favor if you keep it unholstered in a back pocket. I think that's a lousy way to carry and the open trigger may some day cause you an unhealthy shot in the ass...

Not at all for me, but to each his own.

I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
            "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?

I think it comes with something that covers the trigger like the "mic" holster for a glock. I wouldn't use a mic holster but its unique anyway.

If i was going to carry a curve it would have to be pocket carry.

It does come with a light and a laser which is inovative.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Well they may have considered your safety issues. They have two snap off trigger guards with lanyards, one long for your belt (when you draw past a few inches it pops off, the other in case you prefer to pull it off yourself. Additionally they have a built in lockout key for storage. There's ever a pocket holster available. And the trigger pull is 7lbs. The way I read it is that it's safer than the majority of carry pistols at it's core. It's the user that's dangerous.

Check out This Review to learn more about it.

As for looks, I think although quite different it looks good. I'm one who thinks in terms of form follows function. A big ole Caterpillar tractor is beautiful in it's functional way and a Corvette in it's way. This was obviously built for concealed carry and likely by committee. Take all the carry grips you've heard about heavy, hard to conceal, hanging up on draw, laser attachment catches, etc., and objectively look at this design.

It's obviously not for the experienced gunslinger, or the fashion freak who would walk through a desert than ride in a VW beetle, but if I was assisting someone, say a lady for purse carry or slim hip carry, I would definitely put this on the lookie list. Now I saw it for the first time today and wouldn't recommend it until proven but I talking about the functionality of the design here.

That guard is what I was thing of. Like the mic for the glock.

If my wife or daughter liked it and would carry it every day and it functioned, I'd tell them to go for it. A curve when you need it is better than anything they always leave at home.

Am not familiar with Taurus semis, but my brother has a "J-Frame" .38SP revolver knockoff he bought new 30 years ago that is very nice & reliable.

My Springfield Armory GI .45 was made by Imbel, and it is almost as good as the new Colt Series 70. Those Brazilians can make good guns:

I got twin grandkids (age 22) who have 1st dibs.

The guns are pretty close, except the US in the Springer grip, its polished flats on the slide & frame, plus the lanyard loop on the butt:
