I would have published the pic as is and left it a non-issue...as it should be. This world is going to the no-common-sensers. The tiniest wrinkle in somebody's knickers becomes front page news. Get a life!

It's the direction the nanny state is leading us. I'd have run it as is, I see nothing wrong with it.

Looks like she's standing on the flag. Vets don't like it and I don't like it.

Considering the big picture, so to speak, it isn't even worth discussing.

First thing that came through my mind is... she's standing on a flag?

I know she isn't, but it appears she is. That was before I read the story, and it to me, with my photo experience, I was able to quickly detect that its not a flag, but a backdrop.

I don't think most folks would be so discerning.

Tough call. I think the place she works went a bit over the top, hoping to catch attention. Most HS Yearbook photos are captioned... dunno why they couldn't come up with something cute and clever to say that would put an end to the "she's standing on the flag!" mania.

And they story sez they're workin' it out. So big deal. Her employer has skin in the game and is miffed. She's gotta do another picture, and I guess her patriotism is telling her its a good thing too. After all, she knew it was a backdrop and because of that probably failed to see the questionable nature of the background as it appeared in the final image.

Nothin' to see here... move along... move along!

Another example of PC running amok! Crop the picture off at the waist and put it in the yearbook.

You can't crop a HS girls picture at the waist! She wants to look ... "attractive" ... when she shows the picture off at her reunion.

Or put another way, she thinks she's hot and wants everyone to know it, even if she won't admit it.

Cropping at the waist. That would fly like a fat lady at a smorgasbord!
