But seriously. Just after i posted my original question I decided to go for the K9 this morning & put the Shield's away.... I just can't get over that smooth DAO trigger & the safe design of the double cam Kahr uses in all their pistols. For the past couple months I timed myself at the range using my CED 7000 shot timer, at the beep, wearing my EDC (every day clothes ) I draw my pistol from under cover & put 1 shot onto the target @ 7 yards. With the K9 I can consistantly hit within 1.5" of bullseye on a NRA B-16 slow pistol target in under 1.3 seconds, with the Shield 9, same time more or less however not as accurate, not even close.. More like around within a 2-3" circle. I feel that it's because of the trigger. Because of the longer smooth pull & in that extra spilt second it takes it allows me to put the sights more on target... Well, at least that's how it works for me...

Oh sure and of course it had to be Schofields. Direct hit center mass. Your a mean one GB. Gosh durned if that picture don't give me a little Tee Pee in my britches. Ok, I'm off to the internet to hunt for Schofields.

I would go the K-9, because I prefer metal guns.

I own both a M&P shield in 9mm & .40 as well as my Kahr K9. They all have night sights and I've used my Shield 9 in IDPA all of last yr. I can shoot both the 9 & 40 just as well as the other. The K9 is without doubt a smooth shooter, slightly heavier however dare I say, more accurate than the Shield's. Down in Texas where I'm at we can open carry if we choose. Normally I carry OWB, just throw a shirt over it.
Any one of these pistols I wouldn't hesitate in carrying... But I can only carry one... (sure I can pack all 3, but let's be serious) and my problem is I can't make up my mind which! I know this is silly but C'mon guy's, help me out here... Obviously this is a Kahr Forum yet I haven't ran into anyone that talks bad about the Shield's either.

            Which would you carry?
Easy, the one I shoot the best...

Cool! I gotta say, that would be neat to carry for a day. I've never open carried before and doubt I would really, much less a revolver for me as I'm a semi-auto guy, yet that rig and pistol might convince me to do so. Quite the real deal piece for sure.

              Nice.

RonW You like both pistols and if both will serve the same need for you carry a pistol that YOU can shoot 7 rounds inside a A/B zone of a target the fastest for 3 yards on out to ??? The A zone would be even better .

If both are equally dependable and comfortable to carry for you how well you shoot them is the only thing that should matter .

Threads do get easily side tracked around here !!

I've decided to continue carrying my K9 as my primary, although I take the Shield out for a walk on occasion.

I sold my Shield after a year of ownership. It shot well. carried well and was completely reliable.

My K9 is all that, shoots better for me and uses the same 7rd mags my CM9 uses. (I was never considering selling the CM9)

                      So the K9 stays.

Same here. I put my Shield's away in the safe. I had a CW40 which was my EDC up until I bought the K9, I pocket carry my CM9 for those quick trips to the corner store or whenever out hiking/walking... I just can't get over how simple & smooth they are.
