  • Tuckable holster for my PM9

First, I am short from the neck to navel so shirt tails seem to be plentiful on me. The tuckables I have seen do not look like they would work well with the amount of shirt tale I have. So I looked at the Brave Response and the Core Defense on the web. I believe the are only sold on the web so I can't really check them out. Do either or both have a strap over the gun? Are they of equal quality only vastly different in price? Has anyone tried either one or both? What are the up and down side of both?

I am not familiar with that company. I use a High Noon Centerfold tuckable for my MK9, and I really like it, especially with dress clothes. No strap needed.

Can't help for the touchable. But I just got a pocket holster for my PM9, the Recluse. I am not a big guy, but it works in any pants where the pockets are not tight. Looks like I've got no more than a thin wallet in my front pocket, when noticeable. I would say that it works in about 60% of my pants.

Tuckables work but make for a really complicated draw. YouTube shows differently but try it when you are alone at home.

When in a dark parking lot, I want my hand in my pocket on my PM9. As my wife says, "are you happy to see me or..........."

I usually front pocket carry my MK, but when not possible, the tuckable holster works quite well. It's just as fast as pulling it out of your pocket. In some cases, faster, as with a dress shirt...........

I bought the CW380 to carry in my pocket because the PM9 felt to heavy in my pocket. Now I got a PM9 I'd like to carry at my waist depending on how I dress. I like the extra power of the 9 over 380. I'll sort it all out eventually. I am also fortunate enough to live in a small town with very little violent crime. I carry anyway.

Check out Cook Holsters. They make a nice tuckable kydex. Nice people too.

If you don't have one already try a thick dedicated gun belt. It makes a pocket pistol feel much lighter to carry. I pocket carry my CM9 daily, all day.

                  Cook holster experience

I bought a Cook Kydex tuckable for my LC9S per glowing customer reviews. I was very disappointed. I could hardly pull the gun from the holster even after loosening the retention screws. Working the holster with a plastic bag and hair dryer per their instructions improved things to a tolerable level. The clip attaching hardware included an unnecessary spacer that made the assembly too thick for comfortable IWB carry. I removed the spacer but could not find a shorter Chicago screw locally to make it work. Cooks did quickly ship me different hardware.

Then, at their invitation, I submitted a review to their Website. It was above average but not outstanding. It never got posted. No wonder all their reviews are outstanding.

In the end I concluded I don't care for Kydex holsters. But all this fooling around certainly didn't help the experience.

I ordered a Core Defense Tactical Holster and it came today. I thought for only $20 I could find out if I wanted to spend the $ 70 for the Brave Response Holster. I did find out once again that you get what you pay for. The Core Defense is not much better than sticking a gun inside your pants. There is nothing to keep the gun from coming out the top. With very little movement the gun pops out the top. What a piece of crap. Unfortunately I am still unsure about the Brave Response. Maybe I will tie the gun in with a ribbon and give it another try. No wonder Core Defense is selling their marvelous $40 holster for only $20. I've got to get someplace that has a few different tuckables to choose from so I can try out some different ones. That takes a 60 mile each way trip from where I live.

Yep. Buying holsters is a crapshoot. I have found it hard to find Kahr holsters in stock to try. So I just ordered a few online. I got lucky and found a couple that work well kinda early in the search. Here's a simple pancake I bought from a forum member. I also use a Dean IWB. I've never found a tuckable that works...

This is a High Noon Centerfold tuckable. Notice the size...................small, very pliable leather. To me, any firearm that is hidden is not comfortable. I have found that this one is very small, and not too bothersome, and your shirt tucks in between the holster and belt clip, which is attached to a separate piece of leather. I have a tailor near me. Maybe you could have a tailor do your shirts and shorten them up, so you don't have so much material to tuck in. Otherwise, I just use it for dress occasions. I have yet to find ANY holster that is TOTALLY comfortable. The one pictured is for a non Kahr firearm that I don't have any more, but you can get an idea. The one I use for my MK is smaller by a lot. I don't think I could tuck kydex..............too stiff. I do use kydex for OWB, but for IWB, leather is much more comfortable.

The striker in my CW380 broke today so it forced me to buy a holster at my local gun shop. I picked up a Galco tuckable and a sticky that works great in the pocket. They were all the shop had to choose from for my gun.
