  • I think it's NYPD

I contacted kahr with my serial number and was told my E9 has elite trigger. But watching YouTube videos and comparing mine, I think mine is NYPD

My trigger comes really close to the back where the videos I saw the trigger has more gap

Your E9 most likely has the long pull. As far as I know all K9s and E9s came standard with the long pull unless the owner changed the trigger or bought a K9 elite '98 or '03 model. E9s have not been made for many years. Only recently was the standard K9 trigger changed to the short "elite" pull found on all other Kahr models. Finally!
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

My pm9 breaks nearly all the way back, cm45 about 2/3 way. Seems they all break a bit differently, just an observation.

My cw9 doesn't break that far back too.
Was told the E9 was mfg June 98

Kahr still thinks it's elite trigger but I have to measure to be sure.
Holding the two pulling the triggers you could tell they're different

Did a search in converting trigger to elite and most say I'll need trigger, trigger spring & spacer.
Do i need the elite trigger bar as well?

            If you think it's NYPD?
            Then it probably is.
My MK40 Elite breaks about halfway back and feels like butter.

              Length of Pull

After doing all the safety stuff, empty gun etc,
Lay the gun on a sheet of paper put a pencil with it's tip on the paper, slowly pull the trigger with the pencil until it "fires".
The length of the line is the length of pull, do it several times to get an average.
Do it to other guns to compare, this takes the "it feels like" guess out of any length of pull comparison/debate.
              just sayin'
I apologize if my post contains the same or similar information as someone who has posted before me.

Can you post a photo of the trigger bar in your E9? Some older guns have a trigger bar that is a different style from current Kahr pistols. If yours has one of these, the frame will need to be modified to use current parts.
                  regards,
                  Greg

OK, that's a current style trigger bar, no frame modification needed.
                          Regards,

                            Thanks Greg
So in order to upgrade to elite trigger, i'll need
                            *Elite Trigger ($13); 009K9E Trigger (009K9E)
                            Price: $15.40
*Elite Trigger Spring ($5); 010K9E Trigger Spring (010K9S)
                            Price: $6.60
*Elite Trigger Spacer ($2); 011K9E Trigger Spacer (011P9)
                            Price: $2.20
*Elite Trigger bar ; 013K9E Trigger Bar (013K9S)
                            Price: $14.30
I would not need elite trigger bar since it's already the current style?

                            many thanks.

My bet it is not the elite trigger, but the nypd trigger. again so u understand going to the elite trigger will gain you only 1`/8" less travel, trigger pull poundage will not change unless you install the wolffs trigger poundage spring. I have the nyupd trigger in my K9 and the elite tgrigger in my PMJ9 and to be honest I really can't tell any difference. I shoot my K9 much better thn the PMJ9. an 1/8" less or more IMO is hard to justifyt thge money change, but its your call to make not mine.

                              good luck
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
