    This one is pretty clear:

What the devil is the secondary explosion in the gel?????

      That is so cool.

That secondary was the high temp from the rapid compression of gasses in the confined space most likely. They make piston fire starters that work on the same principle that operate by hand.

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I believe you are correct although I have no scientific evidence to prove or disprove your theory.
I am on the internet so I guess that qualifies me as some kind of expert although I don't know how to make a youtube video.
I've made a few of those piston fire starters. Not easy to make happen but they do work.

There has to be something combustible in the cavity. Heat from friction is more likely than from gas compression. Or a combination of both.

              Colonel,
I will testify you have a doctorate in common sense. Those are rare these days so don't let anybody give you any crap.

                  Interesting.

I like the hammer rebounding, the puff of gas that comes BEFORE the bullet leaves the barrel.

The flash.... in the block... dunno. I'm wondering if the gelatin itself is combustible. If it is... there's the principle of the Diesel engine, or the pile driver, where high compression will ignite things. Check out the scorch mark inside the gel block after it gets done shaking like a fat lady does with excitement when they bring out the lemon pie at the smorgasbord.

                          My first handgun was a S&W 629-2 4" 44 Mountain Gun.
Carried it inverted in a Extra Large Eagle fanny pack for about three years.
Loaded with 240 gr Federal Hydra-Shok 44 Magnum ammo.
It seemed to settle the age old argument of light fast vs slow heavy
It was, and still is, my definition of a Hand Cannon.
But realizing the world is my backstop made me rethink the beast as a carry gun.
Do have a few boxes of 200 gr Speer GDHP Short Barrel 44 Mag for self defense.
And it shoots 44 Special like a kitty cat.
But there are a lot better carry options available for a gun of that size.
It's in the safe now with a box of Garret 310 gr super hardcast Hammerhead ammo

                            PHOTOBOMB ALERT!!!

Demonic FACE OF SATAN in that clip.... that guy turns up EVERYWHERE!

Seriously.... look at the YouTube in .25 speed at 720p

You can actually SEE the bullet jump the barrel/cylinder gap, and see the rotation of the bullet.

And that is one LONG bullet they shot. I don't think that's photographic elongation due to speed.

And... look at the position of the bullet as it exits the gel block, and the relative speed of collapse of the void created. No wonder there is a flash produced!
