Clip draw (and similar clips) don't cover the trigger. Not safe. (Gun only goes BOOM when trigger is pulled! COVER THE TRIGGER SECURELY)

So realistically you can only safely carry them with no round in the chamber.

If you do that, you add a gross motor skill to already stressful life or death situation. (Quickest way to jam a gun is to rack the chamber improperly on a semi auto)

Basically and unloaded gun is a boat anchor IMO.

There are about 10,000 better carry solution than that clip.

Find one that works for you.

Revolvers are little different. No racking involved, but I still believe the trigger should be covered as safety measure.

I have carried a LCP Ruger many times with a Clip Draw without issue. I suppose I better not do this anymore or I will shoot myself.
Some also beleave 1911's are unsafe carrying cocked and locked....Carry what you are comfortable with...

Believe it or not some things make it easier for the user to screw up. In my opinion this is one of them. The closest I will ever get to minimalist carry is something like this which served me well when I went to the dark side and owned a Glock for a few months. Good gun, just not for me.

It appears the OP has some affiliation to, or is the maker of this clip. This thread strikes me as advertising. No trigger guard = no sale for me too.

I'm with OvalNut and JimBianchi... if it doesn't cover the trigger guard, I don't want to use it.

LOVE 1911's, one of my all time favorites pistols. Cocked and locked is the way John Browning designed them to be carried, in a holster with the trigger covered.

In a holster with the trigger covered AND the sweat shield of the holster has to have a deep groove to prevent the safety from being flicked off especially on those 1911's with an ambi safety.
