Do you remember when a 22 was the coolest gun?

22 goes with me every time I go to the range. Just built this one up, at least the frame part.

I learned to shoot on an old Savage 1917 Favorite, which my brother has. The ejector broke on it many years ago so it is a wall hanger now. I ran across another one a few years but that have been completely refurbished with absolutely gorgeous wood and a new barrel for $100 and couldn't pass it up. It'll be going to my younger grandbabies very soon.

I carry my Ruger Single-Six Convertible when hunting elk and deer for mercy shots if need. Used to carry my Browning Buckmark. A .22 at the base of the skull is much nicer than a high powered rifle shot in the bread basket at short range, and much quicker and humane IMHO. Just ask someone in the Mafia!

First time I was allowed to take the Remington semi-auto 22 into the woods to squirrel hunt by myself, a transformation began. I felt on top of the world! It inspired resposibility, and I was going to contribute to my family by bringing home supper! I think I got one that day, but it didn't matter. I was trusted by my father to be right. Luckily, I was able to do the same for my son. Everyone I know shot 22 first, most still shoot it. Hope this thread goes on forever!

My 18-9 S&W pistol was alway fun to shoot. over 150 dead squirrels would tell you about their accuracy if the cold.

Oh my, that's a lovely pair of Registered Magnums

I used to own a Model 18-3...that was until my wife commandeered it. She was gracious enough to allow my continued possession of the Model 63

Downtown, those are sweet looking firearms you have.

                  Me jealous.

Semiauto .22s are fun but frustrating for their ammo pickiness.

As far as plinking and overall fun, the .22 wins hands down. People will argue what is the best overall caliber, but I know one thing, they all have .22's in their collection.

Love shooting the 22's (although a 60 with tracer's is a lot of fun) .... I still want the first Kahr 22 off the assembly line (pm frame) ... when I got my first pension check I used it to buy our three grandsons Henry Goldenboy youths 22's ... they are 1,4 and 7 ... hope I'm still around to hand them to them .... we have a Stevens Savage that we play and learn on now ... one shot at a time I think they will remember for a life time.

My son has a Steven's Favorite falling block single shot that we have put a gazillion rounds through. We have had much fun with that gun. I have been through several Ruger's and now have a MK II Stainless slab side and an old 3 screw super single six in .22LR and .22Mag. In the rifle department, I have an old Remington 513T target rifle (incredibally accurate) and a "Hiawatha" tube feed semi-auto 22 my dad bought from Gambles when I was a kid. I forget who actually made the gun. Wifey has the best 22 rifle however. She has one of the Magnum Research MLR's with a pepper stock. That little beaty is a fun gun. Was drilling the 100 yard target with that gun a few weeks ago. .22's are definitely the way to go.
