  • Old school Kahr pistols

Well I guess it's appropriate....an older guy with older guns (as Kahrs go). I knew my K9 (AD00XX) was an early one, but after checking the serial number thread, I see my MK9 (GA09XX) is early production for that series. That makes both over 20 years old; I'm calling that old school as far as Kahrs go
    Here be the geezers:

K9's serial number changed to protect the innocent

    Let's see yours!

Both may be old but both look far from wore out. That MK almost looks NIB.

I don't know if it's considered old school yet, but approaching 17 yrs. old.

I'm not sure how old this one is, but it is the old style dovetail. It wasn't getting any love on an auction, and the frame has been cerakoted.

gb6491, there seems to be a sheen on your K9, especially the grip screws. Is your gun one of the few that were coated with the "Black T" finish? That would then be a very early carbon steel black model. Mine is an early Black K9 but in the later very matte finish.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

It has a worn black oxide finish that has been touched up with cold blue and steel wool. I think that, some oil that is on it, and the lighting probably account for the sheen.

I just posted a thread about an old K series K40 of mine. It shoots great and is of very good quality but thats not what the thread is about. It was about my issue with the new Kahr guns. Im starting to think that the old K pistols were better than the new ones??? Cant say for sure though...

I so need an MK9. I keep getting other things, but that needs to happen. My K9 is still my favorite Kahr.

New versus old, I honestly have had zero issues with any of the newer Kahrs. I have an S9 and an ST9, both of which run like a top straight out of the box. Yes, I know the folks there but they do not hand-pick anything I buy.

Well we have 2 K9 Elites both purchased in early 1998. So that should make them about 20 yrs. old. Both have never fumbled yet with anything we feed them.

Luckily for all of you I was just getting ready to open a Kahr Rest Home. Send your Kahr pistol to us, along with an initial 340.00 processing fee and we will keep your loved one in our facility. They will receive top notch care from our professionals! Should they worsen with age, you will be notified before we place them into our Increased Care Facility (ICF) and airlifted back to Kahr Arms. Additional funds could be needed at that time.

                        Hey Bob,
I'll keep that in mind. Question : Will they be allowed visitors ?

                            Thanks Greg.
But they are getting long in the tooth, and like yours are showing their age with wrinkles on their grip screws and other places.

I believe all parts are interchangeable except for the rear sights. Old style dovetail sight cuts were from the start of Kahrs to some time before 1998. I say this because my oldest Kahrs were made around 1998 and have the new rear sight dovetail cuts
