    Done deal.
I think I might live but it's only the first day of my legal separation, (we're more than 300 miles apart) so the week definitely ain't over yet.

I'll post some pics of this beauty when it arrives.

We'd have to live in the thing, and there ain't much room.

I was in a dealership a few months back for something, don't recall what, asked the price of a new pickup, good thing I was already sitting down.

Dude tole me I should buy a new one more often, then I would get sticker shock so bad.

A 46B? as I recall, tube feed, target style stock. Turns out my son has one just like it really nice. I was with him when he got it at a gun show, just forgot which one it was. Had I remembered I probably would have held out for a different one.
It's kind of a rivalry between us. So far I'm winning, I got more. But he's got a nice T bolt that I covet badly.

There's Wards 47A that needs a stock makeover and has some rust. It's been up 3 times with no takers at 149 bucks. The stock is nice just needs a refinish, the rust is concerning but the Mossy's usually take cold blue nicely and I can get a replacement feed tube if it's too bad.

I like the stock style on that one, rather appealing, but I better lay low for a bit I reckon.

Yeah, it's a shame what's happened to pickups. High demand for luxury versions done turned anything above basic work truck trim into high profit margin stupidly expensive. My last "real" pickup was a 2000, optioned up, 4x4 LS Ext cab 5.3 Silverado Z71 and my OTD price was in the upper $20K region. Current truck, an LT3 2008 Z71 4x4 Chevy Avalanche went for OTD $42K. Both those included about 8% state sales tax. That last one was bad enough. Don't even want to think about costs today.

We have a 97 Z71 we bought used. Good truck, has a couple hundred thousand on it and survived 3 kids driving it back and forth to school.
I can drive it, has hand controls but I haven't for quite a long time. If the van equipment gives me many more fits I'm likely to put a lift in the back and start driving it myself.

When we got the wifes mustang there was a really dolled up ford pickup in the showroom. Open the door and a little step folded out and lit up. Real plush inside, totally girlyman. I think the sale guy said it was like 72,000 or there abouts. they usually look at me and know I can't afford it so maybe he inflated or maybe deflated the price.

When I go to dealership to look it is to see what I will be buying 6-8 years. That is when they start to get affordable. Pretty sad when a $50 k truck is worth about 10-12k after just a few short years. Bad for new vehicle buyers but good for me. I just recently bought a 2000 Land Cruiser for 8k and re-sold it for 12k after only owning it 6 months.

Gosh durn it, my grail old mossy 22 just showed up on the auction site. Good buy now price too. Wednesday and wife don't get home till Sunday but getting the new phone depleted my mossy hunting money.
I have access to our (her) bank account. Devil on the right shoulder says transfer and go for it, devil on the left shoulder says do so and die!

On the negative side the shop was 40 bucks to ship and 50 bucks to the West Coast which of course is where I am. Also jabbing 5% for CC use. Robbery in my book.

Just tracked the last one and UPS apparently using Wagon Trains won't arrive till next Monday. Is my impatience showing through once again?

Probably would be better than the Escape that it is [company car]. Gutless wonder!

Um, is the missus spending money while she is out cavorting around? If the answer to this question is "yes" then listen to the devil on the right shoulder. It can be easily justified!

Yes she is, cruise, shopping, who knows what all. Nothing she does justifies me to do anything, at least that what she says. I never say no. She is not high maintenance, no Imelda Marcos show collection, purse collection etc. I'm fortunate that way.
That being said I did it any way. It's headed my way tomorrow Fed Ex, should be here next week about the same time the first one arrives. 2 guns in one week, I don't think this has ever happened to me before.

You and me both brother......April Fools is my 20 year anniversary here at the dept. I tell myself, that's enough but not much job market for old deaf derelicts in wheelchairs, although I remind myself that's what I was 20 years ago when they hired me so maybe there's something out there.
