  • 9x18mm Police cartridge and the Kahr P380

I'm thinking of modifying my P40 Covert's frame so that I can use my CW9's top end on it. I'm pretty sure this will only involve cutting in some clearance for the CW9's barrel lug. To that end, I was surfing the web to see if I can find any photos of how Kahr has done this in the past when I came across some info about the 9x18 Police cartridge and it's use in a Kahr P380.

I can't remember ever seeing this discussed here, so I thought I'd post some of that info and links to the article.
All the following is from http://www.brassfetcher.com

Here are some tables folks might find interesting:

Both charts are from here: http://www.brassfetcher.com/Handguns/9mm%20Police/9mm%20Police.html (I believe this is also the start of the article)

Here's the photo that caught my attention, it's an x-ray of a P380:

    I found it here: http://www.brassfetcher.com/Casualty/Kahr.html

    Regards,
    Greg

Makes you wonder if that would be a hand full in a P380. May be no more stout than a .380 buffalo bore hard cast though.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

That might be perfect for the larger CT380.

The Buffalo Bore and Underwood +P make quite a kick. I've fired probably close to 300 by now and it still seems like a .357 magnum after shooting .38 specials! That 9x18 seems stronger than I was thinking. Is that hotter than the "normal" Makarov ammo?

Thanks, Greg. Quite a bit warmer! http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/9makarov.html There's an energy graph, too.
