Just got back from voting. I can tell it's a good turnout in my district. I was #282, which usually doesn't get that high until late afternoon. The bad news is that it looked like a lot of Tammy Baldwin zombies wandering around

At 10am my little town of 1000 people has almost 500 votes counted. Good turnout. Hope it means good news.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

The number you see on your ballot usually represents the absentee ballots too. My absentee ballot was #0382. If mine was the last one sent out the first ballot on election day would be 0383. The number on the voting machine is the number of ballots run through the machine, which may or may not include the absentees if they've run those through the machine already on election day. At least that's how it is here in MI. YMMV...

                  Putting the election in perspective:

Yes, the republicans lost some ground, but gained a bit also:

President Clinton lost 54 House seats and eight Senate seats in his first midterm, as voters responded to Hillary's attempt to socialize health care. President Obama lost 63 House seats and six Senate seats in his first midterm, as voters responded to the Democrats' successful party-line vote to socialize health care.

America's response to Trump's first two years? Republicans lost 36 House seats and gained 2 Senate seats, as voters responded to The Donald being an unruly a-hole in general. However, the democrats will rule the House with a narrower margin than the republicans have had.
                  \
Don't forget, Clinton and Obama won reelection for second terms.

Of course they had 95% of the US media fellating them 24/7, whereas Trump is being flagellated by the same amount. lol

For me, I've been trying all day long to figure out why God created Liberals and Democrats. And why they don't comprehend common sense.

Man I’ve been pondering the same thing. How or why in the world do they want the things they want? Just makes zero sense.

Agreed. Congressional gridlock means those swamp people can’t do as much damage to us little folk.

And across the aisle would do much to help. Little hope of that, however, so I'll take the gridlock.

Agree, the really important things will get done and all the useless fluff goes nowhere. Now to tune out of the Washington news feeds for the next 18-20 months.
