Ladies love outlaws. And apparently convicts. Guess they are outlaws that got caught even if he didn't do it.

Here's a link to the website and chart.

There must be a reason Kentucky is such an anomaly. Buds can't be the only reason. Other than the other branch in Tennessee, are there other Buds in the U.S.?
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I fergot - if it’s NICS checks, a mail order place won’t do NICS checks. The buyer’s state would.

I just happened to think that these numbers in AL won’t account for all purchases. If you have a concealed carry permit you’ve passed the background check through the sheriffs office for the duration the permit is valid (1-5 years) and you don’t go through NICS, you just fill out the form, pay your money, and go. The LGS files your form in their records. If you act up then the sheriff will pull your permit then you have to do a NICS check.

Not sure how they get away with that but hey, I’m not a lawyer and don’t play one on TV.

23% of all eligible residents of the state have been issued a permit. I can tell you that at all my LGS’s people line up to buy, the salesperson says “you got your permit?” The buyer says yes, shows it and some money, fills out a form, and in 7 minutes they’re out of there.

I haven’t seen anyone buy a handgun without a permit since that legislation passed and took effect back in 2016 or so.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

^^ Maybe Kentucky doesn’t have that, and it pushes their number up? Florida doesn’t have it.

A bunch of states bypass NICS based on permit status.

I don't really get this. It has Washington on the list. Here at least until now a CPL holder could buy a gun, the dealer just calls and gets a NICS # and the buyer can take it home. So there really is a NICS check. And they still get checked on the local level by city or county agencies.
One of the things I do.

I think they make me do it cause they know I hate the whole idea.

Thanks. I wondered how that worked.

It's almost a mission from God for them. A normal human wouldn't be able to stand what I stand.
                        Glad I'm not normal.

Yeah, just picked up another LCP yesterday - ordered from PSA ($170+ shipping) - walked in the FFL, showed my LTC, filled out the 4473 on their laptop, manager double checked the info & numbers, paid $25 transfer fee, walked out with the gun. 15 minutes total in store.
Gifted my spare LCP (NIB) to one of my sons, so thought it would be prudent to replace it so cheaply. My original .380 was $310 when they first came out in 2008 - still tote that one a lot as a car gun. Bought the 2nd one two years ago locally for $200+ tax. Ruger must have produced a Rosie McDonnell load of those little guns.
