Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I'm thankful that it looks like we won't get off the hill today so we'll likely just have the feast here. More work for the missus but we've got the stuff (be prepared) and I think she enjoys it. Plus avoid the insanity of my sisters house.
Nice to see everyone but not worth the risk.

I concur that we need to remember the true meaning of these holidays even if it means Jocko ain't gonna pony up for that new Harley Trike under my tree on Christmas morning.

And I'll be thinking of our troops all over the world today and everyday knowing that they are in some very not nice places under some very not nice conditions so that we can be.

Great topic for today. I was listing the things I am thankful for in my mind earlier:

                Gods blessings
                Our great country
Those who have defended our way of life in the past
Those that defend it today and in the future
Our FREEDOM of speach, press, right to bear arms.
Our founding fathers, the right to vote and kick rascals out of office
The people that came here and settled this land with their own blood, sweat, and tears and passed this same fortitude to their children
My parents, grandparents, and all the others that set an example for me to follow as I have aged.
And not the least let me mention my family and wonderful supporting wife of 23 years.
Much more could also be listed.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

I'm happy to announce that we made it off the hill and over to my sisters house for the usual feast and gang nagging fest. Actually compared to years past it was actually very tolerable.

Apparently my influence over other family members has taken root as every adult male in attendance had a pistol on their person, all well hidden. Mine was so well hidden they mentioned they had never seen me without. Pointed out that I had my usual two. Apparently it works.

My nephew brought what I think is a genuine honest to by gosh Hawkin 54 in near perfect shape, a true thing of beauty. He also had a Savage 17HMR for show and tell.

Anyhow didn't have no bickering or squabbles, managed to get back home alive and it's warming up a bit so its all good as of right now this very minute.

                  I'm thankful for that.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all and Jocko, you`re right. This is the best damn forum I`ve ever been on too.If anyone is wondering what is so special about Kahrtalk, all they have to do is read the responses in this thread. This is "the best damn forum" because it has the best damn people. We celebrate each other`s victories and console each other when setbacks occur.Throw good information and a little goofing around into the mix and there we are.Kind of like a family to my notion.
In the area in which I now reside, when I`m placed in a group of four or five guys,I`m known as "the smart one".God help me.
