Let me ask the "braintrust" a quick question. I recently bid on a gun on Gunbroker and was the high bidder. After the auction the seller sent me an email telling me where to send the money. I had a question regarding the FFL information I needed to send him and sent him an email. He did not respond. I sent him another email 2 days later. Still no response. I have now sent 5 emails in 5 days with no response. I looked up his contact information on GB and called the number..... No answer. I have called him 5 times this week with no answer. At this point I am a little leery about sending a check to him. Am I being paranoid? He has excellent feedback as a buyer and seller.

Before I sent the money I'd send a note to Gunbroker customer support. They're pretty responsive, usually about 24 hours. I'd advise them of the situation. I'd explain that you can't send payment without the FFL question answered, and ask them to help. GB will contact the seller and hopefully get a response. I'd also politely let the seller know that you're enlisting GB's help so that he doesn't think you're going behind his back. G/L

Unresponsive sellers are a red flag. Not necessarily bad news as there could be unknown reasons. The above advice by Buckeyblast sounds like a good first step. Who is the seller? Perhaps some of us have dealt with him.

I would not hold my breath but sometimes the timing really is unfortunate. I've heard of traumatic happenings simply taking somebody offline for a couple weeks in the middle of a transaction. Pretty unsettling tho.

There's no way I'd send money untlil I heard from him. If there is a legitimate problem, ie: he's in the hospital, then your money would just sit there and it would be driving you crazy that nothing was being done. On the other hand if he's not legit, then you're not out the money. I'd definitely contact GB and document everything you've done, that way nothing can be held against you. Good luck.

This would be flipping me. You bid, you won, you want it now. My transactions are nearly always completed in minutes after the auction.

I have my FFL waiting for word to send his license to the seller, everything lined up.

Fortunately nothing like your experiencing has ever happened to me. The guy could have issues, computer problems, illness whatever like everyone here has mentioned but I'd be insane my now.

Never had an issue on there, been real lucky.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try one more time then contact gb. The gun is a very nice lnib 3913 TSW with the factory cut grip (like a covert). It's one w/o a tac rail which is pretty rare as well.

Thanks. I probably overpaid but these are hard to find. The 3913 TSW is a single stack 3rd gen 3913 with a shortened grip. In addition the TSW models had frames and slides that were produced as a hand-matched set. They also have full length rails and feature a delayed-unlocking firing system. Finding a 3913tsw w/o the rail is hard to do, it cost me but it looks like it will be worth it.

i have no knowledge on s&w autos, but sounds like a quality gun. i definitely like the no rail. when were these guns last produced?

S&W still produces some of the Tactical (TSW) models for police agencies. Atlanta PD carried 40 cal 3rd Gen TSWs until they switched over to M&Ps a few years ago.
