  • New to Kahr

Just purchased my first Kahr...a CW9. should arrive friday. Did a lot of research prior to purchase. Own Glocks prior to this purchase. Hope to avoid magazine drop problems I've read about. It sems to me it my be a shooter hand position thing. Anyway can't wait to get to range with it!

Clean, lube, rack lots, clean, lube the shoot.

I've had a few failures - mostly ammo related with my Kahr. The way some folks rant here, I started feeling really fortunate to only have really... maybe 2 real failures, a few more unexplained mysteries, and anything else totally at the fault of the reloaded ammo.

Then I realized that I shouldn't feel lucky. I should feel "normal". The gun is working normally, as it should. The better part of 1000 rounds and very few problems. Can't complain. Will be working on a final 200 round shakedown session. Probably wont shoot much after that, except .22's.

      Welcome to Kahrtalk!

Best of luck with your new purchase. I don't think the mag drop problem is common to any of the Kahrs but that is just my impression from what I read here at Kahrtalk.

to add to that latey wehave been finding out the mag drop of a result of "shooter hand" postion
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I choose the CW9 over the P9. I've not looked back. I have a Glock 17, 19 & 21 but they all stay home now. I carry the Kahr with confidence and it shoots GREAT. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum wdg. Most Kahrs are good, but when they do mess up we tend to be very vocal about it. I think it's cause we have such high expectations that when they do mess up it really frustrates us. There are thousands of happy customers out there shooting away that never have problems and never join the forum. It's usually those of us that have had problems or just want to get to know other Kahr owners that join. Lots of knowledge here, so if you do have a problem there are folks ready to listen and offer some good advice.
