Right now, I've got 115gr Gold Dots and 124gr Hydra-Shoks. But have heard good things about both the Golden Sabres and HST rounds in 124gr.Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.

Any premium brand ammo that is accurate and feeds reliably is what you should carry.
Golds Dots are carried by many police departments so they are a safe bet. They are a bonded round, police like bonded ammo because it will penetrate windshields better than non-bonded ammo. For CCW, I don't think we will ever shoot through a windshield, that is just my opinion.
Win 127 +p+ and 115+p+ have a long track record of putting down bad guys and are also great choices. Tons of old guys carry them. I used to but they went WAY up in price, still my back-up ammo is 127+p+.
At the moment I carry HST 147 in all my 9mm's. It has excellent penetration and stays together on impact.
YMMV.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Having recommended 124 gr Gold Dots, I have to confess that I carry 124 gr HydraShok in my PM9. The reasons are simple. I have a ton on the shelf, round has worked well for me in the past, it's dead stone reliable in my gun, and I tend not to get too wrapped around the axle over the difference in tech specs with quality ammo.
My other defense handguns, including my other 9mm Kahrs, are mostly Gold Dot, however.NRA Benefactor

First of all I recommend a +P round hollow point. The Kahr is built for +P and not using that is lost opportunity. I carry Federal HST +P 147gn in my 9mm because I believe it to be a reliable penetrator. I know the 9mm will never be a .45 but I went for the heavy full expansion round to get as close as I could.•"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." - O. L.

I appreciate your point, but somewhat disagree. I prefer standard pressure ammunition in all my lightweight carry guns..PM9/LW Officers ACP/442/G27. Perhaps a personal shortcoming, but I'm much better with non +P ammunition in these guns past the first shot. To me, lost opportunity includes diminished capability for effective follow-up.Originally posted by OldLincoln View PostFirst of all I recommend a +P round hollow point. Most, including me, like to talk about favorite ammo.
We all know quality HP defensive ammo that proves to be reliable in your gun will get the job done.
It's just fun to try out different brands/weights/pressure to
see if you and your gun favor something in particular.
I'm just saying...
