  • A Good Day with the PM9

Been to the range a few times lately and I feel like it's showing. Went again yesterday and things were just clicking. That first target is actually 36 rounds. I've got some decent training from back in the day, but haven't shot much for the past several years. Even since I picked up the Kahr last fall I'd only been to the range once every 2-3 months, but going 3 times in a month has definitely made a difference.

I've been playing around with the idea of taking the PM9 to a steel plate match, so later on yesterday I came up with a little game: I put three sticker targets up and would come up with different patterns of 5 shots to execute (e.g. Left-Right-Left-Right-Bottom) and then draw and fire as quickly as possible. Like steel plate, if I missed, I had to fire again until I got a hit. Good fun and good training. It took a bit to get used to quickly squeezing through that long trigger pull, but as you can see by the last target, I got the hang of it. Steel plate match here I come!

I've got to admit. Looks like you are ready.

Very impressive. Looks like 3 times a month is the ticket.

That's astounding with a little pocket gun! How far away were those targets when you did this?
          Very interesting...

Thanks all, it was really enjoyable.

The range markings aren't great, but I'd say 30ft for the slow fire; probably closer to 25ft for the 'steel plate' sim because I wanted it right in front of a particularly bright light. The targets are USSS Combat Transitional, and the stickers are 3".
