  • Rut Row! I almost brought home a K9...

What are they going for used? I took a quick look at a used K9 in the case at a local shop this weekend... priced around $450 if I recall correctly. Good buy? The bore looked nice, no chipping or plating problems on and around the chamber, feed ramp looked good. I can't remember the date code but it didn't look like it had many rounds though it. Thanks!

$450 for a K9 is an "average" price around here. If it looks clean and sound you can't go wrong at that price but I think you could find one for $50 cheaper if you look around.
..... I carry a small gun to compensate for my huge pecker.

Thanks for the info! I looked on gun broker and see a lot of them have a NYPD trigger.. What's that?

If I was in the market for a 9, I'd have snatched that in a New York minute. You can could look around and maybe save some money, but that sounds to me like a reasonable price. I believe the NY trigger is just a heavier pull to try to reduce negligent discharges.

Quick scan on the net and it looks like it might be the pre Elite trigger?

"The requirement then for the NYPD to accept them in thier approval listing was tha the trigger had to have a 1/2" travel on it . Kahrs have 3/8" travel. Kahr made that change in the K9 for the NYPD . Today most K9 are still with the NYPD trigger (1/2" travel). The order model number shown for the K9 kahri isK9093C (the C depicts NYPD trigger). toorder a K9 without that NYPD trigger, one must order just K9093 (no C)"

That's a good price for around my parts for the condition you described.

Most K9s have the longer NYPD trigger, with a 1/2" pull length. All other Kahrs have a shorter trigger pull of 3/8". Pull-weight wise, they are all the same at about 7 lbs.

Being a used Kahr, it probably has the longer pull unless it has the word Elite on the slide. New K9s have the shorter pull unless it is specified on the box as the NYPD trigger.

The price was OK, nothing special unless the gun had something else going for it such as nightsights or is a "Elite" model.
