  • Bob Munden - Quick Draw!

I was watching Stan Lee's Superhumans on History Channel, and saw a feature about this guy. The speed and accuracy of his shooting is truly superhuman! Here is his home page and some YouTube videos. Enjoy!

Here is the video of the Superhumans story:

Damned if his wife wasn't as fast as he was.

Thanks for the links. Great videos.

unfortunately, Bob Munden is (was, anyway) suffering from severe kidney problems and is (was) on a waiting list for a kidney transplant. Bob Munden is (was) the main reason I sat through hours (well... not the only reason) of Wednesday Night at the Range on the Outdoor Channel. Bob is (was?) one of the 4-5 main attractions of the "Impossible Shots" segment. The guy is (was) an amazing handler of handguns.... everything from an NAA .22 cal at extreme distance, to big bores at any distance.

I hope and pray for his recovery, and that he will be able to "retire" on his own terms.

Mr Munden's talents have always amazed me. That NAA .22 at 100yds ( I think) was incredible. I was not aware of his health problems, but also pray for his recovery.

Bob seems to still be going strong. Looks like your prayers worked, Surv!
"Bob and Becky continue to perform live and on television, and are busy producing new DVD’s and adding other items to the Online Store such as souvenir coins Bob has shot out of the air — and t-shirts featuring some of Bob’s outrageous quotes.
Bob’s phone rings off the hook; so, while he is in his work shop every day, he finds himself talking on the speaker phone with all kinds of people and answering questions about the trends in the shooting sports, about the history, of Fast Draw, CAS, Mounted Shooting and Cowboy Fast Draw. He discusses hunting, gun safety, gun rights, shares his strongly held beliefs about what it means to Shoot With Honor in competitions – and reminisces about the western movie heroes he and Becky grew up with.

She slowed to crawl after spending 40 years with me. I can almost keep up with her now.

Ah, the good old days... still have the scars and can find them if I look hard enough. I had to give up on that fast draw stuff... like my typing, get out of synch... fortunately, no permanent damage. I didn't have the protective metal shield in my holster, either.

Lessee, it's supposed to be start draw, c0ck hammer back as I draw the gun, find the trigger as I'm getting the pistol pointed at the target and fire as I get aligned with the target, but it went grab the gun and start the draw while c0cking the hammer, pull the trigger... OOPS... hadn't cleared the holster, yet. My leg got in the way, but nothing vital hit, and I missed my feet... not so bad... decided to just watch Clint Eastwood and not try to emulate him.

I've posted this before, but maybe someone will have a good chuckle... I still do.

one of my hunting buddies, has the same leg scar. He practiced fast draw for a very long time and he was very good at it UNTIL the day he put live rounds int he gun and the first timeout of the holster BANG right down throgh the holster and into his leg. He is in perfect condition today as it was a 22 and nothing bigger but he nevert did it again with live rounds..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Yeah, I never tried it with my other pistol at the time... my Browning High Power!

I've been pretty safe since then... about 43 years without any ND's... just early firings at the target... taking up the slack... mainly with Walthers... PPK/S and my TPH in .22.

My finger doesn't get near the trigger until I'm pointed at the target.

Hey! No pain... had to drop my pants and see the entry/exit holes and slight dribble of blood... no pain... until later... stung a bit... lucky.

Campus cops had a hoot. Clinic gave me some crutches... went about 30 feet and said that was enough... hobbled around a bit... didn't use crutches.
