Hey everyone. I'm new here, but not new to guns and knives. Usually I read a lot of gun forums but never post. This forum seems different though. You all seem like very nice and smart people. I've been reading posts on here for about a week now, and I've decided that I'd like to join your little community!

A little background on me: I'm a bit younger than most of you I believe. I'm 24. I've been an EMT-B now for almost 4 years and I'm in Paramedic training. I'm an avid 2A supporter and a yearly member of the NRA. My first firearm was a Sig 239 9mm, and after around 5,000 rounds through it with no ftf or fte it's my go to gun. A friend of mine has a T9 that I've been in love with for 3 years. He's finally willing to sell it to me. It has only 100 rounds through it(50 are mine) comes with 4 factory mags, Novak style night sights (Trijicon) for $450. Needless to say, I'm jumping on it. In my opinion it's the most beautiful 9mm I've ever seen. It fits my hand like a glove, and I love the Hogue wood grips on it. It's also very well behaved, more so then my 239 with Hogue rubber grips. Also, after pawing numerous .380s I've decided I'm getting a p380 all black with night sights. My Walther ppk/s .380 is just a bit too big and ammo sensitive.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting about my love for Kahr. I hope that you all will welcome me to your little community. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here. I also hope my girlfriend will forgive me spending the majority of my free time with you guys!

You sir are indeed welcome on this site.It`s great to have new people join and especially young folks like you.We constantly need new insights and ideas if we`re going to keep this forum interesting and entertaining.As for your ladyfriend,get her involved in target practice so you can enjoy it as a couple and then get her to share her experiences here as well.We are a pretty diverse group of people and we generally get along well with each other.There is a ton of good,solid,gun knowledge here along with some of the most off the wall discussions you will see anywhere.We have fun.Glad you joined and look forward to hearing more from you.By the way,I watched "A Hard Days Night" on TV last week.Brought back a flood of memories of being 15 again.

The T9 rocks by the way, we just had one on here for sale a week ago that sounds exactly like you described with the extra mags and stuff. I couldn't get it but somebody here scooped it up. Nice guns.

Thank you all so much for the very warm welcome. That's why I said that this forum seemed different. It seems more like a friendly barbecue than an online forum. Some of the other forums I'm involved in are not too friendly.

@Dietrich: Hard Days Night has to be the best Beatles movie. It's just so much fun!

I've already learned a lot from reading on here. This will be my first striker fired weapon. Cleaning it is a bit different. I'm a bit nervous with the things I've been reading about the rounds engaging the slide lock. I didn't have any problems when I put 50 rounds through it a while back, but I'll give it a thorough going over and lubing when I get it.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

the thingsu read on this form arenormally things THAT IF u have issues, is where to start looking. Many times when one has issues, he jumps to the conclusion it is the gun but has nbo clue what part of the gun might be doing it. Many little piddly things can be solved without sending a gun back. Some just can not. Your T9 being an all steel version should just be one hell of a great shooter. Sop when u readof things fear not, if ur gunis runing right, just read and store that in ur kahr memory box for maybe someday u might be able tohelp another kahr owner who hgas issues but knows not where to look.

There is no smooter trigger system than a kahr, but there is also no loooooongter trigger system than a kahr, and it just takes time to get allur ducks in order, but in the mean time it is alot of shooting fun gertting there to.. enjoy.

Welcome to the forum beatlesfan, glad to have you. I like seeing you younger folks getting involved in the shooting sports, after all the brainwashing about evil guns you've probably had to endure. Oh congrats on being a EMT-B (not sure what the B is), you do a very important job there, and probably saved a few lives. You have my respect for your service to your community. I have to go now, my guitar is gently weeping again. I think it's jealous of my Kimber I just bought. Oh, and unfortunately, those warm guns they were talking about had nothing to do with firearms. Remember that was written back in the '60's

Lol I know what warm gun they were actually talking about. If everyone didn't know, it'd be a very fitting line for my signature.

The anti gun stuff I put up with is not too bad. My best friend who I'm buying the T9 from is a bit older (36) with a gun collection of around 200 pieces. No I'm not kidding. So he's not anti gun at all lol. My mom tolerates them. My brother likes shooting at the range, bit is totally against carrying. I can't make sense of it either. There's always a lot of anti gun stuff in the media, but I don't buy into it.

Even though I live in a small northern indiana town which is very safe, I'm only about 30 minutes from Gary. I'm sure you've all heard of Gary. A bad guy looking for easy pickings could very well make the drive over here. I'm not going to be a victim or just another statistic.

Plus, firearms are works of art and incredible feats of engineering. How else can you hold an explosion in your hand and be safe? (I hope no one notices that haha)

Welcome Beatlesfan, I think you will have fun here. Can't say I cared that much about the Beatles, as being a guy, I tend more to the girl singers and groups from the 50's and 60's. I did like "Something" though.

My son is a paramedic, a cop, and a commercial pilot. He quit his job as an engineer with IBM to go to school to become a paramedic, so I can relate. He told me once that he felt like he accomplished more in one day on the truck as he did in 8 years with IBM.

I believe you'll find your journey into the world of Kahr interesting and rewarding. I bought my first, a CW9, over five years ago, and have had five of them w/o any problems beyond keeping them fed.

So welcome again, whippersnapper, and don't mind Bawanna, Jocko, Wynn, and the rest of us old fogeys. We mean well and don't bite ..... often.

Thanks O'Dell. I understand why he left IBM. While being a medic doesn't pay for crap, there is that sense of accomplishment that you can't put a price tag on.

if u live next to gary which 50 mile is close enough buy a tommy gun. They juyst don't seem to care who or how they kill up in that area.
