Carry while mowing?

Just got done mowing the lawn. Was carrying my almost 40 year old S&W snubby .38 special loaded with Critical Defense with Hogue rubber grips in a OWB Glaco. I always carry while mowing. Do you? If so, what do you carry?

You wouldn't want to carry anything real expensive or new because you'd potentially get a lot of sweat on it.

I've gotta admit that I'm past feeling the need to carry a weapon when mowing the lawn or hauling the trash out to the curb. But I live in a "safe", residential neighborhood, lawn takes me <45 minutes to mow, and garage door to curb for the trash is about 100 ft of driveway. Your mileage may vary.

I carry a High Life tall boy in the tractor cup holder and change it out every 10 laps or so...I don't normally CCW while mowing, I'm more afraid of being hit by lightning (For some strange reason lightning hates riding mowers and tractors and many have been hit while mowing...) I figure if a BG wants to take on a bush hog then go ahead, make my day...

Nope, same mileage. Safe area, doesn't take long. It's just comforting knowing it's there. Plus, it gives me a reason to clean it!

Here in the Tucson area, the standard "yard" is something like 20 tons of crushed rock. Mowing is not an issue anymore . . . much to my relief after mowing more than an acre when we "lived" in New Jersey.

Needless to say, carrying in New Jersey was not very practical.

You could still mow the rocks if you miss it. Just take the blade off.

Don’t mow lawns anymore.
Not my style.
But my daily carry is a 10 year old S&W 342 ti snubby .38
loaded with 135 grain +P Speer Short Barrel with Eagle Black Onyx Secret Service grips,
XS Systems Big Dot front sight, stainless trigger and action job
in a DeSantis Nemesis.

I carry anytime I`m outside my house.A neighbor has some dogs that are darn near wild sometimes.They have advanced on me and were getting their nerve up until I pulled out my PM9 and said loudly,"All Right,which one of you mother#%$&@*% wants to die first?"Their whole demeanor changed abruptly,as if they suddenly realized they had lost any advantage they might have had.Other people have had trouble with them since that day but they haven`t approached me again.Between that and the fact that a new neighbor has moved in and breeds pit bulls [he says for sale but everyone else says he also fights them] pretty much ensures that I will always be carrying when I`m on that John Deere.Or off it for that matter.

Yup.
I'm kind of a stickler for triggers on a gun.
My S&W 629 has an action job and over-travel adjustment.
It's just plan amazing.

Also have a stock Sig Sauer P220/45 and P239/357.
Both have really nice SA/DA auto triggers out of the box.
But for an auto, I must say my Kahr MK40 Elite is in a class by itself.

Interesting.....when I lived in New Jersey, and I find your quote marks appropriate, I did go armed while mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, and anywhere else beyond a foot and a half of my front or back doors. Fortunately, due to time and profession that was acceptable.

I do appreciate Tucson front yards. Tucson is one of the four places I've long had on my short list for retirement since forever.

I've also got a P239 but mine is in 9mm. It's my favorite trigger so far, but the T9 is quickly taking over. I love the smooth trigger pull on the Kahrs.
