I've taken both of my boys shooting since they were 9-10 or so and
taught them both to shoot on a Browning Buckmark.
But it's been a while since we've gone and they've been bugging me lately
to go again. They play a lot of video games that have real gun models in
them and I was really surprised at the number of gun types they can
recognize just by looking at them. (FN PS90 seems to crop up in a lot
of shooter type games...go figure
At any rate, I thought it was high time for them to get a feel for how
a Glock handles in real life so last Saturday I took them with me and
brought an assortment of Glock 9mm and 40s.
This was the first time they were physically big enough to handle the
larger guns. We had a blast and didn't leave until every last round in my
bag was gone
Probably about 300rds assorted all together.
I was actually very impressed at how well they did
and how well they were able to catch on with just a few pointers
and refreshers.
I'm very confident that in a tight situation my two boys have the capability
of defending their family with one of our home defense pistols.
I figure by the time they're driving they ought to have access combinations to our home defense guns.
Here's some cel phone snaps from a proud dad....
Tim, 15 yr old.....he was quite pleased with himself as you can see....
deservedly so. That target was multiple 5 shot strings of Glock 19 and
Glock 23.

This one is Tim shooting my Kahr P380. He had a tough time
getting that on target.

And 13 yr old little brother Charlie, not too far behind. He's got
good form. He preferred the G19. Can't say anything against that, probably
the easiest gun to shoot well with across the board for most people.

Fun times!
