Any experience with DPMS/Panther Arms?

They have some AR variants at a low cost ($560 and up), and wondered if anyone has experience with their rifles and if they are junk or fairly decent weapons. I was thinking about getting one of those so I could buy one of those bump fire stocks and waste a bunch of ammo. Sure looks like fun.
Wish they had something like that for the 10/22, sure would be a lot less expensive on the ammo.

I had one for a while. It seemed like a pretty good rifle. It was accurate and reliable. But, I sold it because it was quite a bit heavier than some other brands.

I have one of their .223/5.56 (AP4-A2)that I bought 2+ years ago for $999.99 during the first "scare" and now I see basically the same at Cabela's on sale for around the price Tman quoted. Would I buy again? Yup!
Comes with 2 30 rnd mags, sling, hard case, cleaning kit (mine has the solid stock with a storage compartment - very handy to put cleaning kit in for range use) and a detachable carry handle. I was told (and bought into the reputation BS) that DPMS is one of the better quality AR manufacturers out there. That part I don't much know about but I do know that I have had a sweet shooting experience with it! DO I want some optics and other gizmos/mods - yessir! Do I have any money? Nope - still looking for job and food and shelter take priority over "toys" - er, ah, neccessities. If I had the opportunity to buy one for $560 I would hit it in a heart beat - but that is only my opinion based upon experience YMMV.

I shot one a few weeks ago with the Bumpfire stock on it, what a blast! EATS ammo!!!
Seems to be a pretty good gun. I am not sure how they would hold up with extended shooting due to heat generated with Bumpfire.....but then again, you will run out of ammo first.
I have also been thinking of getting one.

About the same price, they have FN barrels and their lowers are made by Aeroprecision, a well respected company. They use no middleman so their prices are lower. They also have a lifetime warranty on their product. I have had one for coming up on a year, around 1500rds mix of .223 and .22 and it has been perfect.

I had one a few years ago. It was a good rifle, accurate, reliable and not too expensive. As long as you don't kick down doors for a living it should be fine.
