You can always tell a Texan, but you can't tell em much.

It's not a medical thing, it's a Texas thing. I'm not cav either but I know what a 10 gallon hat is and I got one too.

It's a bald face false advertising though, ain't now way them hats will hold ten gallons, I've tried.

Welcome to Central Texas! I shoot almost every Saturday at the Sheet/Trap Club at Ft. Hood. I live in Georgetown, and it takes me about 45 minutes to get to "the Hood" via Highway 195.

I, too, am a Kahr shooter. I have an MK40, which I bought in Belton at Love's Guns Shop. I also have a Sig P238, an M&P 9mm and 22 cal., and I just got an STI Trojan 45 cal. (made right here in Georgetown).

If you are so inclined, we would welcome you to come over and try your hand at trap, skeet, or five-stand. We are right next door to the Sportsman's Center on the base. The range is open on Saturdays and Sundays, and is completely operated by civilian volunteers, which helps keep the cost-per-round very low.

Welcome to Texas - I'm just south of you about an hour.

You don't need a cowboy hat - I've been here since 1959 and don't own one. But get yourself a nice pair of boots.

If you go down to the 6th Street entertainment district in Austin, be careful, as it's gotten to be a high crime area late at night - fights, muggings, etc.

Still, a lot of University of Texas students flood the place on weekends.

Thanks Army Brat. My wife and I actually went down there 2 weekends ago. I got my tattoo from Japan worked on, did some shopping for the wife, and we went out to 6th street.
Can't say I was avoiding the fights, but alas no fight was found lol. We had a good time bar hopping and finding the drink specials. Had the new XDm stowed in the car, and had a hotel uptown. We will be back down there in a couple weeks for tattoo touch ups.

Are you into that scene at all?
