Hi, from IL, where we are supposed to get CC soon
. Love my Stoeger Cougar 8000 and my Charles Daly Hi Power, but wanted something smaller in preparation for CC. Thought about a pocket .380 and some smaller 9mm (CM9), but wanted a little more power than the .380, and I don't shoot well if I can't get all my fingers on the grip. Debated back and forth between the Shield and CW9. Picked up my CW9 two days ago. Take it to the range today.
Have done a superficial cleaning of the gun - break down (including the mag), quick wipe down with Hoppe's 9, polished feed ramp, mag feed lips, surface of follower, wiped it with dry patches, lubed it back up (used dry lube on mag spring and recoil spring), put it back together. Didn't clean the striker (?) channel as I didn't read about that until just now.
Have always wanted a Kahr. I first shot one when I believe the K9 was a relatively new gun on the market. Was the first 9mm I was comfortable shooting (tried some SWs, a Glock, and a Ruger as I recall). However, I've mostly had revolvers until the past couple years. Switched to 9 for the lighter triggers, higher ammo capacity, and cost of ammo. Glad Kahr came out with a less expensive line of guns.
