Thanks everyone.
Miwall reloads are top quality. Haven't had one dud or problem. I honestly think they're better quality than a few of the brand names out there. I was quite shocked to see the gun take the reloads better than the remingtons.Originally posted by b4uqzme View PostWelcome elusive916. Glad you had patience thru the break in. It's a little frustrating to read about shooters complaining within the first 50 rounds. Sometimes the best advice is to just hang in there like you did. It's encouraging that your reloads are running fine. Kahr advises against reloads but I suspect it's a little cya given the guns' tight tolerances vs. the unknown reload quality (depends on the reloader).
Any insight into your name? anything to do with Porsche?
This is the same name I use for all forums, easy to remember and I like the definition lol. but no affiliation with Porsche.

Just wondering because Porsche 916s are indeed scarce (elusive if you are trying to buy one).Originally posted by elusive916 View PostThanks everyone.

I'm glad you got that PM40 tamed and working for you.
I had always heard that the .40 was pretty ferocious. I finally shot one two years ago when my just-retired LEO younger brother and his wife came to visit us... from Commifornia where he was a corrections officer. It was some kind of compact XD40 and didn't seem too fierce. I got to thinking about a K40 and having it Mag-na-ported. Someone had a pretty new Mag-na-ported P40 for sale here so I bought it. I had some problems with it... extractor needed relieving a bit so that the case rims would fit easily and chamber. It took a few range trips to figure that out, but finally got it reliable and it became my main carry. I just put some Big Dot Night Sights on it and it was shooting low... even though I thought I was aiming higher. I got a .40 LaserLyte cartridge and I seem to do well with that, so maybe I'll get the sights sorted out and start carrying it again.
After Barry and his gang started talking about banning Hicap mags and pistols, I decided I needed some Glocks, so I bought a G23C... ported .40 compact for me, and a G19 for Wifey. I bought a 9mm LaserLyte cart for that one first so that we could try to figure out what sights to put on the G19 for her poor eyesight... near vision.
I have Yellow FS Trijicon HD NS on my XD45 and HD's with Orange FS on my G23C. With the white Big Dots on the P40 we should be able to see which one would be best for her. I should have the .45 LaserLyte cartridge tomorrow or the next day from Midway. I'll put whatever type of sight that seems to work for her on the G19 and let that G19 replace the H&R 9-shot revolver loaded with Stingers that's "her" bed-defense gun... after some familiarization with the G19 and some range time. Guns are okay with her, but she doesn't care about shooting a lot... would rather shop. She spent 20 years in the Air Force and had to stay qualified with the S&W .38's... never had the 9mm autos.
Anyhow, back to you. If you want, you can always have the slide and barrel Mag-na-ported to help with the recoil. That little PM40 must be ferocious! If you're not familiar with the .40, that can come as a shock. Some ammo isn't as bad as most in recoil. The last I shot was Independence by CCI using pretty Blazer brass... very bright and high recoil. The PPU 180-gr FMJ is pretty mild when compared with most of the other .40 ammo.
