  • CM9 "Rubber" Grips

About to pick up my first CM9. I've heard a lot about the "bumps" on the backstrap eating up your hand after shooting for awhile. This gun is for my wife, and I'm sure that she will be even more sensitive to hand pain than I am.
I know that some people have put aftermarket grip sleeves in some sort of rubber like material on their guns. Is there a certain brand or part number of the ones that fit the CM9?
I want my wife to have good experiences with this gun right off the bat and not get turned off by something that I can easily fix. Thanks

With smallish hands I'd try a free piece of innertube first. Works well, knocks off the edge but provides plenty of grip.

Easy and fast. Just use the neighbor kids bike tubes.

I haven't even SEEN an inner tube in decades! Nowadays, dads don't repair bike tires like they used to, they go to the bike shop. Unfortunate, but true.

Which size fits the CM9? I looked on the Hogue website, and the CM9 isn't on the chart showing which size fits which gun.

You can pick one up at Walmart for around $5. It will give you enough "material" for a number of CM9 or PM9 autos.

Or a bike shop will generally give you one for free.

My wheelchair tubes are too small or we'd all be set for tube grips for life.

Over the years I've gotten good at having all the tools, air hose etc in reach and swapping out tires and tube in a matter of minutes.
When I got a spare chair handy it's easy, when you gotta get out to swap your grounded till you pull out of the pits.

I put a lone wolf grip enhancer on my Kahr pm9. It is the small one for a glock 26. Fits the pm9 perfectly. The pm9 and cm9 are the same size guns. They are only about $10.00. Good luck with your cm9. What a great husband you are to buy your wife a gun. What a great wife you have that enjoys shooting.

Hadn't thought about Lone Wolf. Looks like I have several choices! And they are all cheap enough that I can try them all and see which one my wife likes best.

+1 on the Lone Wolf QwikGrip, size 3. It fits absolutely perfect on the CM9. IMO, the Hogue feels weird with the palm swells. The QwikGrip is flat, has a perfect tactile feel and helps cushion the recoil some.

Actually, Midway has them $1 cheaper.
                      Very interesting...

Talon "Rubberized" grips for the Kahr, easy to install & will eliminate the "Cheese Grater" grip feel of your CM9. Adds no "Girth" to the grip either. Have 'em on my CM9 & Glock26. Love 'em.

Inner tubes are great! And they don't slip. You can make a buttload of them for about 5 bucks.

have you actually tried the kahr grips. i am 70 yrs old and can shoot 75 rds through pm9, pm40 pm45 one after the other and no problem with the grips. problems start when you use add ons and the gun starts moving in your hand. it affects accuracy and causes feed and ejection problems. these guns need firm grip. just my 2cts

Found I didn't need anything to cover the grip on my cm9. Worked fine as is for me.

With my cw45, it was a little different story and I prefer having a rubber cover on that grip.
