  • New to kahr and looking for info on mk9.

Hello everyone, as my title says i am new to kahr firearms I just bought my first used kahr dualtone mk9 for everyday carry. I have had many carry pistols from small to large and i just sold my pocket gun and was wondering if i did ok buying this model. I do have a glock 26 for colder times but i like the size of the kahr. My question is other than being heavy are the mk9 good?

Ya done real good son. They ain't that heavy and the quality is top notch. I suspect even in the cooler weather you find yourself toting the MK over the glock.

You'll know this yourself when you get a little trigger time and bonding under your belt.

    Welcome, glad you found us.

I also just inspected the box and on the side gives me the s/n gc2XXX, special duo tone. There is one fire shell in the box to with the date of feb 2004, i guess this is an older gun?

Don't worry about the age in the least ... my MK9 that I bought 2 months ago is 12 years old and it works perfectly fine. It takes everything I shoot in it with no problems, and it is very easy to carry. You will love it.

Older is better applies to many many things in life. New does not always equal better.

I side where for pocket carry its heavy. that said, the steel Kahrs are among the best they make.

                      Nice piece of gun.
I have at least one example of each size of the steel Kahrs. You will find comfort with these guns and the MK is a winner.

And I agree ... age on a Kahr is pretty much irrelevant.

I absolutely love MK9. It is one of my favorite guns. I rotate out with a G26 as well. Very smart gun choice.
