Howdy everyone. I just purchased a CW380, and this is my first Kahr firearm. I watched every video and read everything I could find on .380s, because I wanted a pocket pistol, and when comparing the Kahr P380 to other .380's in this size, it seemed to me to be the king of the hill for a double-action only. Great trigger, really good accuracy from such a tiny barrel, and made to shoot. When the better priced CW380s began shipping, I was ready to jump on one.
It's amazing I can type as I've just finished completing the recommended break-in and then some, and my arm is about to fall off.
I really appreciate everyone that contributed to the guides. They were a huge help. Fit and finish of my 380 was good. I did have one small burr on the slide where the half-moon cut-out is located. It didn't appear that it would cause any mechanical problems, but I scraped that away and polished with some 600 sandpaper.
Next up was the degreasing job, and man did it need it. It was literally dripping wet with some fine smelling oil. Even the magazine that came inserted was dripping with oil. I flushed out every crack and crevice of the pistol, then coated all metal with Eezox and lubed rails and other high friction areas with a little Mil-Comm TW25B grease. Racked it another 25 times, and it is smooth as silk, now.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to run a few rounds through it and see how she handles.
Thanks again for the great resource you've provided, and I look forward to getting to know everyone.
