  • Hello from North Carolina

Just got my first Kahr. I got a CT9 from Buds Guns last friday. I am usually a SIG guy but have been searching for a lighter CCW. I think I found it in my new CT9. I tended to carry a SIG P6 (P225) but the weight has always been an issue with me. Even the SIG P239 weighs like a full sized high capacity gun.

I had researched and looked at many different replacements but the Kahr kept coming out on top for me. I liked the TP9 but the price was a barrier. The introduction of the CT series and Buds pricing made me take the bait. Not to mention the free mag offer. I think another CT or CW may be in the works for my wife as she is carrying a P6 as well and complains about the weight as well.

The trigger is very new to me and will take some getting used to. Otherwise, mine is out of the box reliable and seems to be accurate when I do my part.

I look forward to learning more about holsters for CC and anything else about these guns from this site.

Kahr makes fine carry weapons. I love the Sig P6 also but they are not always reliable with hollow points in addition to their weight. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to another N.C. native. I Purchased a Kahr CM9 3 years ago for my every day pocket carry after receiving my CCL. It replaced my Walther PP and Star PD .45. Kahrs can be addictive. I actually prefer the smooth trigger on my Kahr CW45 over my other DA revolvers and striker fired pistols and shoot it just as well as my 1911's.

            Welcome to the forum.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

kwh, do you still have your Walther PP? If so, would you consider a trade for a Kahr E9?

Thanks for the inquiry. I still have my PP. It was the first pistol I ever bought. Ordered it by mail, sight unseen, Summer of 1970. Cost $80, delivered by UPS to my front door. It was my constant companion: car, apartment, camping, and traveling from N.C. to the Dakotas and onto California while working and in school. After school I carried it with me when working alone at night. Those were the days before such a thing as a concealed carry permit. I now edc pocket carry my CM9 and seldom carry my PP .380. I still have the original box and papers but with so much nostalgia I could not bear to part with it. I still get a smile on my face every time I pick her up ; ergonomics and memories. Thanks for the interest and allowing me to reminisce.

After hearing your story I'm not sure I'd let you swap, even if you were willing. Thanks.
