  • Hey from East TN

New guy here. Never owned a Kahr or shot one until this week so I wanted to join in to learn more.
I'm a Retired LEO, Vietnam Vet 68-69, married 47 years next month certified gun nut. But, so's my
wife which makes life infinitely easier. We own a small track of forest in East TN that we like to use
as a game refuge. We clear and grow small food plots all over the farm and have 2 ponds; one
is just a small watering hole of 1/4 acre, the other is almost 3 acres. Both are surrounded by woods.
I have my own firing range set up and shooting is just a matter of walking outside my front door.
I just picked up a CM9 and broke it in yesterday. I'll post that experience in the proper forum. This
won't be my last KAHR I can tell you that!
    Thanks,
    Dano

Welcome to the forum. You live where and how i want to live. Grew up in middle TN and now live one state south of there. I'm looking for a setup like you have in the next few years. I hope i can work it out.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

          Thanks all.
I've got several friends that tell me that I'm living their dream. I know that after I retired and and really got the chance to work my place the way I wanted, I've never been happier and more relaxed. Here's my favorite place on my property and my best friend
          other than my wife.

Dano, you're killing me. What county are you in and what's the going rate per acre up there if i can ask? I have a friend in VA that is looking to move that way too.

If things go my way in about 3 years I'll be seriously looking. Not sure yet if TN or extreme northeast AL. If i stay in AL I can keep my current job. If TN I'll have to transfer.

Sorry bout that I live in Morgan Co on the edge of the plateau. Beautiful country but the far north east of TN is even prettier.
Going rate where I live is $8000 an acre. A few years before I retired I sold a few acres of property to the County to build a 911
center and that's what I got per acre. That piece of property was miles from my home place and was just costing me taxes every
year but it was a very good investment. It allowed me to retire totally debt free with the toys I needed to maintain and build my
place the way I wanted. I tell everyone, forget gold, invest in land! Bought my Ranger 800 XP, RZR 1000XP, Kubota L3800, paid
off both of our 4x4 vehicles, put in a new heat system, and a number of other things that made retirement a dream come true.
My driveway is 1/3 mile long. Nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away after that.

My piece of heavan on earth.

One of our visiting friends in the front yard. (Lawn needs mowed)

Yeah, wife and I love our way of life. She's still working. Hopes to retire some time next year if the Judge can't talk her out
              of it.

Indeed a beautiful area. Although I'm still in SW Florida waiting for my wife to retire, I've got 4.5 acres not far from you in Jefferson County. One day...

I spent most every weekend growing up in Cumberland Co. Camping.

By the way I showed the wife your first set of pics and she immediately started looking for property on the net. It doesn't take much to get her started.

Then you know what I'm talking about. Hope you find what you're looking for. Property is a little
cheaper in Cumberland Co. than here. Don't make sense but it is. There's jobs in Cumberland Co., none
in Morgan. My niece moved to Morgan Co. to be close to her mother but her and her husband both had
to get jobs in Cumberland Co..
