Thinking about getting a CW45 for a carry gun. how reliable are they anything i should worry about? have seen alot of good reviews on it but have seen alot of people having problems

Many members here have the CW45's. I have a PM 45 but still wouldn't mind having one myself.

I don't think there are any issues that would deter me from buying one, other than lack of funds.

Lots of help here if needed and Kahr will take care of it if for some reason you do have issues.

Kahr specifically recommends 200 break in rounds, I believe all guns need a break in period so I have no issue with that and prefer 500 or more to pass my personal reliability standards.
Most don't need any break in but some (all models) can be a bit balky for the first 100 or so.

I have one and its a nice gun to shoot. Get one and break it in as Bawanna said and you should be good to go.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I picked a CW45 up new and had a problem the first time to the range with the extractor or ejector that required me sending it back to Kahr. While I shot it I was very surprised at the lower than anticipated recoil and the point of aim accuracy. I was really disappointed to have to send it back - I would have preferred that the LGS give me a new one in its place since it was brand new - but I guess that's not how they do things. I'm looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the range and continue with break in as I do like the way it shoots and carries...

Mine had to go back to the factory twice. The first time was for the "short-rail" issue (described in other threads). Kahr replaced the frame. The second time was after I got the gun back from the frame replacement; the trigger would not reset about 50% of the time. Kahr "Re-worked the trigger bar" according to the work report that came back with the gun. For both trips back to the factory, Kahr paid the shipping both ways, and the gun was returned to me within a week. I now feel the gun is fully sorted out. I have had several hundred trouble-free rounds through it, even using the Kimber flush-fit Officer's Mag, so it is now back in my carry rotation.

All that being said, the CW45 is a sweet gun. Soft-shooting, accurate, light, and it has the look and feel of a precision-made piece. Amazing that such a slim, light, compact gun can make such a big hole!

Mostly I carry CM9 concealed in front pocket, but when IWB it is the CW45. I have always liked the .45 caliber. The single stack fits my small hands nicely and the Kahr low bore axis modifies recoil flip. Mine is 100% with ball ammo but picky with H.P. I carry CorBon PoweRBall and it is 100% even when trying for failures using limp wrist weak hand only. Would shoot it more often but ammo cost is a little high and the recoil "stings" my arthritic wrist. I placed a Pachmayr grip and that solved the stinging problem. Sweet trigger pull, which I think is characteristic of the CW45. Accurate,no problem silhouette head shots at 25 yards.
