Beretta jetfire 950bs

Well i was on my way to a wedding today and i decided to stop by my local firearm dealers beforehand... Well im glad i did because i happened to stumble upon a perfect condition little jetfire 25acp. I have wanted one of these for a long time just never saw them for sale since there not in production any more. Came in original box. 259.00 + tax.

I dont think its a great deal but not terrible i guess. Either way im happy. I am trying to start a true "mouse gun" collection so this will go nicely with my colt vest pocket 25 and my seecamp 32.

Anyone own one or have any experience with this little guy. All i have heard is they are one of the few tiny guns that have a rep for being very reliable. Also i think they made a harder to find version in 22 short which i would also loke to get if i found one.

several years ago I managed to pick up a 950 (with longer barrel) in .22 short that was made in 1953 (my birth year also). It needed new recoil springs and firing pin but otherwise looked "sound". Turned out that the lower part of the grip frame. under the left grip panel, had a nasty chip in it that made inistallation of the new recoil spring almost impossible. I ended up trading it to someone that wanted it more than me, although I really wanted to keep it if it had been "solid".

If you need parts for the 950, Bud's Gun Parts (available on-line) has most of them available. I would suggest buying a pair of recoil springs, firing pin and magazine (or mag parts) to keep in reserve. They ain't gonna be around forever. Some grip panels may still be available.... the panels have several grooves milled/molded in to fit the springs and other grip internals.

I have one in .22 short, neat little guns. Mine has always been 100% reliable. I don't carry it anymore. But it's always fun at the range for any level of shooter that I let try it. I'll try to get you a pic of mine up soon.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ya i was happy to find it? Been on my want list for a while now. Now i need to find a baby browning, colt junior, and astra cub and i will be complete lol.

neat gun i have 22. the best part of owning the 25 is if you shoot at some one and change your mind you have time to go grab bullet before it gets there.

I had the big brother in 32 acp, and it was a fine little pistol. Ended up trading it off on something with a little more power. It surved it's purpose well for the many years I had it, it was something I could slip in my pocket and investigate the ladies rooms on the insterstates back before we had CC. We used to do a lot of me driving all night and sleeping during the day while the wife drove on longer trips, and in the wee hours of the morning, I'd stick it in my pocket and check out the ladies room at the rest stops before sending my girls in. Of course I'd ask if anyone was in the facilty, and if no answer would go on in and check out the stalls for creeps, then send in the girls. Once I got my CC, I didn't see the need for it and traded it for something with more power. I have a little 9mm not much bigger that I could do the same thing with nowadays, but the kids are grown and gone, and am divorced so just have my own butt to look out for.
Anyway that .32 was a pretty dang reliable gun, except it would rimlock every once in awhile. The tip up barrel was a nice feature for people that didn't have the strength to rack the slide to load the chamber.

Ya i just collect tiny guns because i have always been fascinated with the ones tbat actually work like a pistol is supposed to.. But i also have alot of guns that are more powerful and still can fit in pocket. So thats what i carry.

The only true mouse gun i will carry is my seecamp 32 and thats when im just in a whife beater and shorts. And considering i live right near seattle WA, thats only bout two and a half months outta the year lol.

yep, it was certainly made in the mother country.... 1953

just finished installing some photo s/w and tried doing a size reduction on another pic... here's a pic showing the recoil springs....one on each side of the grip



it was a really cool little gun, but since the frame had the chip in it, right where the lower circular coil of the spring had to seat into the frame, I knew it would soon be nothing but a paper weight. Since it had no sentimental value, and I have enough paper weights around my office anyway, the 950 found a new home.

I too have a fascination with the old classic, small caliber handguns, and wish I could afford to own one of each in pristine condition... but I still want to shoot them
