    no big deal IMO, just one gun and we just don't know the whole story either.
    . My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

          Polymer is pretty darn strong, must of been a pretty violent crash to create a break like that. But like y'all said the whole story doesn't seem to be in the article.

            Meh. I don't think anyone expects polymer weapons to be indestructible, or even as robust as their all-steel counterparts. But they've been fielded successfully with countless agencies for years now, and if this sort of failure was commonplace, I think they would've been dropped by now.

              The article skated over the possibility that an impact powerful enough to break that gun probably would have broken that guy's hip if he had not been wearing it, or had been wearing a steel one.
