  • New Glock 30

Offered a Trade I couldn't refuse this week. I swapped my Ruger 4" SS GP-100 .357 Magnum for a Glock 30 .45acp with 2 10-round mags & 2 13-round mags. Since we don't own/ride horses anymore, the .357 had become a safe queen, and I still have the Ruger 3" SS SP-101 to fall back on. After buying my first 1911 3 weeks ago, I just couldn't resist making the trade for another .45acp. Doesn't hurt that I love Glocks either. Here's a pick of the new G30 followed by the G30 & American Classic II Commander.

Congratulations on the new .45 ACP.
There is just something intangible about the Big Dog caliber in an Auto-loader.
I've come close to buying a Glock G30 myself.
But opted for a HK45C LEM to quench my polymer .45 thirst.

    I still carry my S&W 640-1 2.125" and 65-3 3" 357s too.
But my favorite carry gun, and range gun, is the HK45C.

    Enjoy!

This is what my gun looks like in optional "Osama bin Laden" configuration:

Nice trade, especially since you still have some wheel guns. Keep us posted on how it shoots.

I finally got my first .45 and still haven't had time to shoot it, and it's killing me! Barth had to rub it in too. http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15894

My other .45 is sweet too.
Was shooting both .45s earlier this week.
Took a week of Vacation buy new guns, ammo and go shooting.
        Isn't that nice - LOL!

Awesome Yogi! Congrats on the .45's.

I am getting jealous first Les finds a sweet deal on a g30, now you too...Where is mine! LOL...

I've been wanting a striker fired compact carry .45 for a while now. I have been trying to stay away from shows and shops, but I can't take much more
I like the XDM 45 compact as well as the G30. And the single stack XDS and now the CM45 also have my attention...decisions, decisions...

What do you think as far as IWB carry goes between your G26 and G30? Is there enough difference in weight and size to really matter? After the newness wears off which one do you think will you use/carry the most?

Yogi, congrats on what may be the most accurate and best shooting Glocks made! To me, the Gen 3's are perfect.

There is an adaptor sleeve that extends the grip for the 21 mags. I run mine like that for HD along with a TRL1-s light mounted up front. They also make 9 round mags for the 30 for deeper concealment.

Something else you can do... if you ever pick up a G36, you can swap the thinner and lighter slide from the 36 to the 30 for a very lighweight pistol that holds more rounds than the G36, which is also a fine little .45.

Your going to love that pistol!

The .45 has really perked my interest lately. Put a .45 next to a 9mm, and it's an easy choice.

I think you're going to start a love affair with the .45. I hadn't ever shot this round before this year, and I am enamored with all the hype.

I got a cheap hybrid "double clip" & Blackhawk CQC belt holster with the G30, and they both are very comfy. The G26 is quite a bit lighter than the G30 when both are loaded, but they are both very acceptable to me. I just picked it up Tuesday, so haven't got the range yet, plan on that tomorrow.

The 13 round mags came with the adapter sleeve, so I'm set with mags for sure. Will get it to the range tomorrow, can't wait. I'm stoked on the .45 now, as I've picked up 2 in 3 weeks. I got the best end of this deal IMHO!

Now you just need some Bawanna grips for that 1911

With all due respect to Bawana, I found these "Double Diamond Slim Grips" online & fell in love with them. I can't change 'em now! Here is a better pic showing the beauty of the Cocobolo/Rosewood slim grips, followed by a pic of the original, which weren't that bad, just didn't fit my hand as well.

Cocobolo is one of my favorite woods for grips. Looks great!

Thanks my friend. Wasn't sure how they would look on a blued 1911, but the more I look at 'em, the more I love 'em. Now, I just need to get the G30 to the range tomorrow. Guy I traded with got it in July or August and said he only put around 50 rounds thru it, so I want to put 100 or so rounds down range, not that I expect any problems...it is a Glock afterall. I'm anxious today!

I have that same Commander model, in all stainless. Love it.
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

The olive branch is considered a symbol of peace, and good will. Last time I checked, it's still a switch.

I wanted the Chrome also, but the LGS sold it a couple hours before I got there. I settle for the blued version, and it's a great starter 1911 for me. Been working out the JHP feeding issues, but think I've got it all worked out. Testing again tomorrow, keeping the fingers & toes crossed!

I held one at the Gun Show this afternoon.
                              Can see the attraction.
