  • Look what followed me home......

Went to the LGS pick up some ammo and found they had a SR1911 in the case. Considering it was the first time I had seen one available I just had to pick it up and fondle it. Gotta say I was impressed with the trigger, the machining tolerances and the upgraded beavertail. Reluctantly I put it down and started walking out to the car where I promptly turned back around went back in and put it on layaway!! I just couldn't leave it sitting there in the gun case especially since it was the only one they had!

I called my wife on the way home and told her I put a 1911 on layaway and her response was happy anniversary. I figured that was a stamp of approval on buying it so upon getting off work I promptly went back and picked it up !

I have run about 150 rounds through it and have to say I LOVE IT! Doing double and triple taps at 40 foot with all three bullet holes touching. This thing shoots sweet and is very accurate in my opinion. The weight of the gun help me be back on target quicker than anything other pistol I own.

that is one nice gun. I prefer the matte stainless, just like that.

congrats on your "happy anniversary" (both gun and wife)

          Congratulations!

          I've never owned a 1911.
Although I shoot no other auto better.
Eventually I'm going to have to scratch that itch - LOL!

I've read good things about these Ruger 1911s.
          Enjoy your new weapon.

I'm very pleased with my Ruger too. Great shooter and well put together.

They have a commander version out now that would make a nice running mate.

Starting to see them from time to time now too so maybe they are finally catching up.

I'm happy for you, nice move. I think the anniversary thing might be a trick though, use extreme caution.

That is one fine looking pistol. It's nice to hear people are finally finding the guns they want. I finally found a glock 36 that I'd been looking for for months. Is the panic weapon buying letting up? I hope so.

If I ever see one of those, I think I'll snatch it up as well. Rugerenvy is a killer.
I've lost my memory, and I can't remember where I put it.

That could very well be my next pistol. That is sweet. Being I'm not adding anymore pistols to my collection I just need to figure out which one has to go to make room for it. Congrats

                    Congrats.
My Husband has had one for almost a year and he really likes it, and had never had a malfunction.
                    Enjoy

There's a husband malfunction joke begging to be told after that, but I'll skip it....

                        Nice!
I got to test a bunch of 1911s and the Ruger was my favorite. Even next to the Springfield operator.

Always a 1911 fan, partially due to my Dad's WWll G.I. pistol and the folk-lure & mystique surrounding the conception and devastating power of J.M. Brownings creation. My brother actually took our Dad's 1911 to his 7th grade science class (with teachers permission) to demonstrate the mechanics of a semi-auto. This occurred in the early 1960's No bullets involved! of course. Saw the Ruger at a gun show and as advertised= everything you need, nothing you don't & made in USA. I have a Colt Officers which makes everybody, regardless of hand size, smile when they pick it up - great balance and ergonomics but just had to have a full size. Colts had been too expensive. Agreement was made to hold for 10 minutes while I went to the car to grab my money, good thing, because no sooner than I had left, it another customer who had seen it earlier came back to buy it. Close call. Have fondled her often, purchased a nice carved leather holster but waiting for ammo crisis to come to an end before firing.

absolute great acquisition. I am very new to the true 1911 lust ... but I get it!

The Ruger was on my short list until I found a Sig Carry Stainless. I'm sure some day I will end up with one like yours.

I have enjoyed mine since last fall. Haven't shot the front sight off yet, LOL
(Apparently, this is a growing problem as more reports/pics are coming in on a daily basis - what's up Novak???))

BTW, get with Bawanna about some custom grips for that bad boy. He does a phenomenal job.
