  • New Glock Family Members

Well, I'm still shopping for accessories for my newest additions, but thought I would share some pictures and report my progress.

Wifey and I had a table at the gun show last weekend and the first day was pretty good... sold the redundant G19 Gen 3 and bought the G21 SF that I wanted, as well as a new Looper Kydex-reinforced Gun Belt in size 34". I have a 38" and the 36" was too long... tongue getting in the way of phone and mag-holder. We left with more money than we took... or I spent. So that was a good day. Sunday was slower and I made money on ammo... my best seller and the real profit.

I have guns to shoot and test and more info on the gun show... which we're going to do again... different show this next weekend. Wifey liked the idea and suggested exhibiting at that one, too, since we're already kind of packed for it!

I tried to buy the G21 SF through my FFL dealer, but he couldn't get one. I found the best cash deal there and got it for $571 "out the door". I probably could have beat that deal at Shooters, since they were selling Gen 3 Glocks for $529+tax+NIC when I was there yesterday.

Anyhow, some pictures! First the Mech Tech Glock CCU:

Now some "family" pictures of the Pistols and the companion carbine. I have the 27-round Korean mags for the G21. I have no idea how reliable they will be, but seems like there are only a few options. I did see another 26-round version... slightly different.

The Mech Tech Carbine Conversion Unit with Glock 21 Short Frame lower is pictured with the G21 SF, the G23C with Trijicon HD NS Orange FS, and "Wifey's" G19 Gen 4. Most need sights and I definintely need an extended slide release for the G21... the stock one just isn't usable!. I have ordered a lot of parts... spares and improvements... and I have a lot more to order. I will put the HD NS with Yellow FS on the G21 SF and am still thinking about what to put on the carbine... and Wifey's G19.

I still have more Kahrs... 5 polymers and the K9... and only 3 1/2 Glocks. And... my EDC's are the polymer Kahrs... ALL of them!

    Our Glock Family Pictures follow.

Nice! As much as Glocks bore me, I would take a G21 in a heartbeat.

Wifey and I will be selling at the gun show this weekend at the Morocco Shrine. The Glock "family" is replacing a few other weapons and I need to recoup some money that I've been spending on all of this "stuff".

She liked... might be a strong word... doing that last weekend and suggested this weekend, too. I was already thinking of the August 20 show at Prime Osborne... but ony if we have enough "stuff" left... guns and ammo... and OVER-priced magazines, among other things. Supply caught up with the demand on Glock magazines and many were being sold for less than my "retail" purchases.

Those might come in handy NEXT time... or when the SHTF for barter. I have more than a few more than I "need".

I need to get going here and get ready for the next show... more stuff to buy!

Maybe I can get around to shooting some next week!

I s'pose I ought to go to at least one gun show in my life time, just to say I did. My daughter has a sleepover Sat/Sun at our house, so if I need an excuse to run far far away maybe I'll go check it out.

I did get a few more doodads ordered today... Ghost 3.5 connector for the carbine, Ghost extended slide release for the pistol, and Trijicon HD NS Yellow Front Sight for the G21. The carbine has a different upper and doesn't use the lower's slide release. I did get it an extended slide lock and extended magazine release. The mag release on the pistol seems large enough.

I still need to decide on what grip plugs to get for the 21's. There's a wide range of prices and even a toolkit, but $20 is a bit much!

I'm trying to sell three more pistols and my tactical shotgun to replace money spent on the Glock Family.

I got in my Tactical Kydex order of magazine holders today from Mitchell over at GlockTalk. It was a large order to cover the 2" web belts and 1 1/2" CCW belts for both the 9/40's and the .45's. I still need something for the 27-round magazines

I need to get started on dinner, too. Lamb chops, yellow rice, and green peas tonight... with a bottle of 2007 Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon... from Napa Valley. That was a good year there. I hope this wine is.

Let us know how she runs! I like the look of that CCU, and a 40 carbine does have its appeal. Hmm....

The combo is heavy and I think that I made a mistake going with the telescoping stock. I'm worried about not having a "comfy" place for my cheek!

I was thinking about having the most compact option, but the telescoping stock doesn't look user friendly with no place for my cheek and no "recoil" pad... emphasis on the pad. I may contact Mech Tech about a swap on the stock or at least order the M4-type adapter and look for something more friendly to my face.

I installed an extended magazine release and the extended slide lock and am waiting on the Ghost 3.5 connector for it. My Trijicon HD NS Yellow comes in today for the G21 SF, so when I get time, the only thing missing is the grip plugs.

Wifey and I are selling at the gun show this weekend and I'll be looking for some kind of sights. I have the 2x7 power NcStar "Sniper Scope" that I got for my 10/22, but it's really an AR-15 scope and probably not so good for the .45 ACP, either.

I also have a cheap BSA red/blue/green dot thingy that I got for my Gamo .22 shot/rifle with only a front bead. I just haven't had the time to try stuff out.

When we get through THIS show, I'll have more time. I'll be down to my last box Federal VP525 after this show. I shall have sold 6 out of the 8 I bought back in February last year for the new 10/22. I've been buying .22 at merely $10 over normal or only DOUBLE. I have to consider the cost and shipping for pricing, but generally I'll sell a brick for $20 less. I don't charge as much as most of the ammo sellers, but I still feel a little guilt!

I added pix of my ammo cans for the gun show. My most popular seller is the re-packaged Federal .22. Most people buy two of those at a time. I did sell my last four Sunday to a guy that I had talked with who came back to get some for his buddy. I sold the last four to him for $40. I'm such a softy!

I figure that I'll have a lot of the higher priced stuff left to shoot, as I have tried to buy stuff that works in my TSG-22 conversion. The 10/22 and 22/45 will eat just about anything.

I still have to get a holster for the G21 SF, too, but my order of mag holders from Tactical Kydex came in, so I'm covered for 9/40 and .45 with singles and doubles in 1 1/2" belt sizes and 2" for my web belt. I need something for the 27-round .45 mags, though!

The Gun Shows are fun... get to talk a lot about favorite topics and meet a lot of people... plus liberate some of the excesses in money tied up in guns and related stuff!

I'm pretty busy today, but I just had to see what this was like. G21 SF with 13+1 + 3x13 + 2x27= 107 rounds of .45 ACP = about 9.5 pounds as shown! The mag carriers are not "ideal" for the TALL mags... and I can think of other things to add to the belt... but now sure if there's room for cell phone and stun gun and other accessories!

Hey! I lost over 35 pounds and had to buy my third Looper Kydex-reinforced gun belt last weekend. I had to adjust this web belt several times today. I got a 34" after the 36" that replaced the 38" became too long as well. That extra tongue length gets in the way of my normal carry accessories... cell phone, light, extra ammo and so on.
