  • Another orphan found a home

This one just cried for me when I walked up to the counter. I couldn't help it. It came home with me, today.

That shiny and new or shiny and new looking?

I don't recollect any of the ones I've seen saying 30S on the slide.

I know SF but even they don't say SF on the slide. Maybe I never noticed or maybe you got a rare one?

    Maybe it's a gen 4 thing?

Maybe I don't know much about Glocks, even though I'm a duly accredited armorer. Don't swell my head none.

What is the 30S's claim to fame? Just curious.....hey it's a gun....and that is good.
There are so many blocks it's hard to keep track of which one it which.

Wow, I said BLOCKS, and I really meant Glocks! Hmmmmm!
Sorry, I didn't mean it even though it sounds that way. Must have been my subconscious expressing itself.

Seriously, I've only shot one and I really need to give them a chance. There just seems that some are very good and the rest are inconsistent in quality and need to be reworked.

The 30S is unique in that Glock fit the 36 slide on the 30SF frame. It makes the slide smaller for Glock's best carry frame. Smaller print and reduced weight but still with 10+1 capacity of .45ACP.

Regardless of it being a G-lock (that's what we call them down here with a little story behind it) you are a good man for bringing that little orphan home and raising it as your own!

                  So now I know, thanks.

I'll have to try to shoot a few more Glocks. Have you found that some are good and others are "why bother"?

No offense, I guess I'm saying that when you are as big as Glock (for a reason) quality control is difficult.

Plus for me they don't feel good in the hand.
But I won't say I'll NEVER own one.

I have ALWAYS enjoyed the full-size pistols, like the 22. The mid-size models are also nice. I tried a compact model 27 but couldn't like it enough to keep it. It just wasn't small enough to conceal well but it was too small to shoot well. The 30S seemsto be a good shooter, so we will see about the conceal and carry issue.

Nice buy! Those are still nearly impossible to find around here. I'm still going back and forth g30s or g21gen4. The 21 is readily available but not the 30s.

I'm amazed at all of the negative comments about Glocks, mainly from people who have never even fired one. My g26gen4 worked right out of the box. I did field strip and clean but there was nothing to clean. Unlike my PM9 that was filthy and full of metal shavings out of the box.

I like them both. I'm just saying don't knock em if you haven't personally tried em.

                        Congratulations on your new adoption!

Just took a second look.....you got the newest style with the rail. Nice!!

I grew up on 1911s and S&W revolvers. Never thought I would be a fan as they are butt ugly, but they work! I have a 23 as my duty gun and it has thousands of rounds through it and when we trade them in next year, I will tag mine and buy it.

Congrats on your new pistol. Nice find.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

That's got to be a Gen 3. It doesn't have the Gen 4 mag release. I'm not an Armor, but I did sleep in a...., never mind.
