I watch the TV show Supernatural, about 2 brothers that go around killing vampires, demons, weird monsters and such. Stupid, but entertaining with all the weaponry they come up with, and lots of shooting and fighting.
So they are hunting some kind of monster man and one brother says to the other, "So how do we kill it?" The other brother holds up his very nice custom 1911 and says in a kind of deadpan way:
"Empty one of these into it's head, see what that does."
Being a 1911 enthusiast, that kind of cracked me up. Probably was more of a you had to be there..... type of thing. I thought hell yes, a head full of .45's is not going to make anyone's day, vampire/monster man or whatever you run into.
The 1911 in question is heavily engraved and nickel plated, with pearl grips. Something most 1911 fans would love to have. Would make one helluva BBQ gun. Sometimes they use a standard plain Stainless model, for scenes where the gun will be dropped or abused somehow. It's the one brother's go to gun that he always has on him. I wonder how a nice set of the Colonel's custom grips would look on it. This is one of the guns listed that they use for close-ups. And if it isn't, it's pretty darn close.
Sure isn't your run of the mill studio gun. It's been used in movies. Robert DeNiro is listed as using it in Machete.
