Viva Vaquero Cuatro-Diez and Glue Stick Slugs

Yah, the new one, sorry for no pictures yet. I had these .410 shells for the Judge that I really don't care all that much, so I thought I'd play with shortening them for the Vaquero, and make it a "cuatro-diez".
The lead obviously didn't spread much. Gonna try another at longer distance too. Just a fun thing to do. Right now I own 15 rounds of 45LC, and I'm not shootin'em until I can get a Lyman 310 tool and dies for it, so I can reload the brass with black powder and some of old 45 cast bullets I found I still had in my garage. Heck, they're all sized and lubed... ready to go. About 35g of FFFg oughta do it justice.

Thats the Glue Stick Slug.
The Stanley Glue Sticks come 12 to a pack, and are ten inches long for just under $7 at Home Depot. You cut 'em into about one inch long slugs and hand load them into primed cases. Shoot 'em. They fit perfectly, and do not glue the bore. Accuracy is ... good enough for indoor or garage practice. I got a tip to use carpet remnants hanging in a box as a backstop. I lost the first slug, it sailed clear across the yard. Another tip was to drill the 45LC cases so that primer setback didn't bind a revolvers cylinder. My primers didn't set back, but... if you're having a problem, you can drill the flash holes a little to fix that problem. I'd mark the cases or put a V notch in the rim to altert that it is no good for charged loads any more. Priming and depriming being what it is... it can be done with hand tools very easily, and quick. Having some dedicated indoor brass is not too big of a deal, as all you need are a few cylinders full so you can take a break and make some more ammo on the spot.
Still looking for 45LC dies for the Lyman 310 tool. Gotta get those Black Powder loads goin too.
Hope anyone with a 45LC gets useful enjoyment from all this!

CJB:
Reminiscent of the Speer plastic practice bullets of the '80's.
Revolver units consisted of a red plastic case and a black plastic press in bullet fired with a primer.
Auto units consisted of just a place plastic bullet pressed into a std brass case. They also recommended enlarging the primer hole and marking that case so as to not use it for standard load reloading.
I also used block wax for bullets too, easier on the backstop than hard plastic bullets.
I fired many of these in the backyard and even occasionally in the house.
Reasonably accurate and great fun.
