  • .380 Magnum ?

I thought I posted this earlier, but I guess not.

While doing some terminal ballistic research I found this, about a Kahr P380
I didn't know there was such a round.

I noted no flexing of the Kahr polymer frame in the Ransom rest even with the +P ammo. This must be a design flaw for as we all well know the Glock frame flexes just as it was designed to flex in a Ransom rest. (Let the mud slinging begin.) Good links JG.

The 9mm Luger is to the 380 as the 10mm is to a 40sw.The brass seems a lot thinner on the 380 than on the luger brass. A standard load is about 2 grains higher on the 9mm.

        Have fun, be careful.

Very interesting. I wonder how they determined the P380 to have a 2.75" barrel, though. And, most snubby .38's are under 2". An Underwood +P 90-gr Gold Dot .380 round surpasses what you can get out of a 2'" or less snubby .38 +P. Most .38's don't expand much if any out of the snubbies.

The slide lock pin really jumps and flexes the right side of the frame horizontally as the slide recoils.

The right side of the pin is silver and it jumps to the rear more than the frame... meaning it's stretching the hole on the right side of the frame as it's smacked by the barrel lug. Just watch the bight silver dot recoiling more than the frame movement in the Ransome rest.

I was really looking for any kind of flexing.

Wynn, Are these comparisons both using the same weight of bullet?
