  • Any Jungle Carbine fans out there

I was able to find a very clean 1967 Lee Enfield Ishapore 7.62 Jungle carbine a couple years ago for a good price so I grabbed it. I have always been a fan of the Winchester 308 and I wanted the Ruger scout rifle but this thing only cost me 300 bucks and I can shoot low level cast lead bullets for next to nothing without getting a sore shoulder. It will also make a great Bug Out rifle.

Darn, that's a really nice one. I'd love one of those for 300 myself.

Really nice and a good deal too. About how much does it weigh? We have a "family" SOCOM 16 that was given to us. Its a little over 8 pounds and looks about that length.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Have you ever seen a gun made of blue steel and wood that you didn't want?

That's a real beauty, SG. Looks like it might be really handy to have around.

I've wanted one of those for many years. The only one I've found won't be sold.

You've got yer self a great one, and at a good price.

                    Con'grats, Enjoy.

According to my fishing scale it is just over 8 lbs. and is 40 inches long to the end of the muzzle break.

Thanks to all who replied , and no it hasn't been refinished. From what I could find out from the shop where I got it a collector had bought it and never fired it and when he passed on they bought several military style guns from his family. I did find out that it is not a 303 that was converted to 308. and that it probably was one of these Number 7 Jungle Carbines.

Nice... just what I remember from the ads for those pre-G.C.A. 1968. I don't remember what they were going for... but not much!

I turned 18 and went into the Air Force in 1964, so I missed out on all of those fantastic deals by mail order... the ones that were stopped by the GCA'68.
